This book is simply wonderful. There is a full story book at the front about maggots, snails, and butterflies. At the back all the instructions are given so that you can crochet your own collection. There are step by step instructions and some pictures to help you create them all. Having made a start, I have found that it is easy to follow once you get the hang of it. I can't wait to start making my own little collection. :)

This book is an absolute treasure! The layout throughout the book a pleasure to look through, a cute story first, then the patterns themselves. This is a photo of my first project from the book so far, which is going to be one of the butterflies, but the beauty of the patterns is, you can slightly alter things to make your creations unique, like just making the caterpillar on it's own, but having the choice of different style wings to make to turn it into the butterfly, and if you use different colours, you can make yours even more unique. The patterns are easy to follow and we'll written. There's also patterns for beetles, snail and other cuties here. Definitely a well recommended book for fellow crocheters.

This book is so darn cute!! Love the story at the first and the patterns are just fantastic. The instructions are easy to follow, well written and have lots of helpful tips. The figures make up great too. My grandkids love them and so do all the adults I show them to! I'll be making beetles, bugs and butterflies for quite some time to come!

Absolutely beautiful book. A fantastic idea of having story pages at the beginning of the book, keeps little ones entertained whilst also telling the story of how their little bug began life! Very clear precise instructions, simple to follow and understand and photographs to follow along the way. There are some lovely photos in this book and I think I’m smitten!! Can’t wait to make some of these beauties! Such a clever idea all round, highly recommended.

Love the book. The story is a nice touch. Then all the info to create the butterfly etc are great. I only have one thought, possible suggestion. I’m making the butterfly and other characters from the book and it is a shame I can not give the story part alone along with the crochet animals.

Bought this as a gift for my wife as she loves crochet. Thought it was just going to be a load of crochet patterns but I was delightfully mistaken. The patterns are for small dolls that go through the life cycle of little insects like butterflies, and lady birds. The doll starts off as a little grub or caterpillar that you can put inside its crochet cocoon and then hatch it and put on its wings. On top of this it is accompanied with a small story book so you can read through it with the dolls with your children. A fantastic surprise and if you know anyone that loves crochet I would recommend this as a gift.

I had seen a few of these makes on social media and thought I would give it a go. There is an adorable story at the start that shows you all the different insects you can make and the order they come in, just in case you aren't sure. There are then some very helpful explanations about how they recommend completing ALL the stitches and techniques. This means that if you aren't sure if it is UK or US terms there are explanations and pictures for reference. Forgotten what BLO means? There is a picure to help you out. Never done a bobble stitch and the pattern calls for it, just skip back a few pages. There are a lot of over laps in each indivdual make, so you do have to read it carefully at first to realise. For example, the heads are all the same but then there are 3 different styles for the body, this is usually based on colours and how you create the different stripes. They also have recommended colours for each variation, but you can happily forget all of that and complete it in your own way. When attaching the different wings together there is a very helpful diagram in the explanation section, but it only shows you with 1 style. I found that it was helpful, but with some of the different wings you need to use your own judgement a little more. I love this book and have had many orders from friends and family after seeing the first make. My Mother In Law even ordered it for herself.

A beautiful book with truly delightful patterns for little bugs to crochet. These are cleverly designed so wings can be added and removed from the bugs adding to the play-ability of the toys. I also loved the little beds for the bugs and I am already planning to make several bugs for my niece. The instructions are easy to follow and suitable for beginners and more advanced crocheted. Highly recommended to all.

Easy directions & the sweetest back stories! Every caterpillar can turn into a butterfly, if you want, and you can even make the cocoon. Your little friends will have fun playing with them & turning them into butterflies! There’s also ladybugs, aphids, maggots, and more! But these darling bugs are cute as a, well, bug! I bet you’ll enjoy making them, and any little ones who you gift them to will enjoy playing with them!

Ce livre n'est pas du tout ce à quoi je m'attendais en le commandant. Mais je ne suis absolument pas déçue. Il est plus beau encore que dans mes attentes. J'ai hâte de faire ces petits personnages pour mes filles. Ils sont adorables, magnifiques. J'adore le concept de la chenille qui évolue et je suis ravié. C'est un livre magnifique. Attention, il est en Anglais. Mais il vaut vraiment le coup alors ne pas hésiter à l'acquérir.

絵本仕立ての非常に可愛らしい本です！編み図は羽など一部で、本体などは言葉で編み方を説明してあります。届いたばかりでまだ編んでいませんが、説明は丁寧そうなので読めば編めそうです！

Absolutely beautiful book, has a story at the beginning about the insects in the book. My daughters love the story and were even more thrilled, to also have them crocheted for them! The book also shows you all the techniques for crocheting, so it’s also good for beginners. Highly recommend. :)
