Just purchased and used once to mince some beef, please give me any tips you have because the meat just turned to a mushy mess on the spiral.

Hi My husband purchased this machine and he lectures in meat qualities so can give you some advice. The main reasons are too much gristle in your meat. Trim out all gristle, don't force the meat through this is a light machine and won't cope with forcing it through. The second it starts to come out mushy stop and remove the plate and blade thoroughly clear them and then carry on. It pays to put your meat in the freezer and let it get semi frozen but not rock hard!, cut into thin strips and then mince in the machine. Give the machine time don't force it these are not heavy duty machines. If you mince twice put through a large holed plate first then a smaller one, stop and clean out if starts to mush, too much mushing as I've said is usually the meat is simply very grisly and/or too tough for the machine. are the parts dishwasher safe?

I've checked the instruction manual which says - " do not place any parts in the dishwasher".

Does this machine fill sausage casing?

The short answer is yes. You get 3 sizes of plastic fittings to suit varying casing sizes.You (well,me) require an extra pair of hands to guide the sausage away from the machine.The meat needs to be minced twice prior to starting the filling process. I've found the smaller diameter casings to give the best results. Hope this helps.

how noisy is the machine as I am very sensitive to high pitched whining noises?

If you don't like whining noises please don't purchase this machine. It is extremely noisy and we have to wear ear defenders when we use the machine (which isn't often). Sorry but I can't recommend this machine.
