I’ve been using Paula’s Choice skincare for many years. CALM Ultra-Gentle Cleanser has quickly become a staple in my skincare routine. I have sensitive skin that can easily become irritated, and finding a cleanser that effectively removes dirt and sunscreen without leaving my skin dry or tight has always been a challenge. This cleanser truly lives up to its “calm” name. The texture is a soft, lightweight gel that glides effortlessly over the skin and rinses off easily without any residue. It cleanses thoroughly while maintaining my skin’s moisture barrier, which is something I really appreciate. There’s no harsh stripping effect, no tightness afterward—just clean, refreshed skin that feels balanced. Another standout feature is how soothing it is. OMG! This stuff is fantastic. It is so soft and gentle yet highly moisturizing. It smells lovely, too. 11/14/25: Just bought a second bottle. The first one was very difficult to squeeze one-handed to get a bit on a wash cloth in my other hand but I managed. This second bottle is totally IMPOSSIBLE to squeeze one-handed. I have to lay the cloth down and squeeze the bottle with both hands!! This bottle needs to be redesigned to make it function properly. I wish I had saved my old bottle so I could pour the new bottle into the old.

Gentle cleanser for irritated skin. It makes my face feel clean and soft without burning. It takes a bit of light scrubbing with a washcloth to fully remove makeup, though.

This is my go-to daily face wash for my sensitive skin. Gentle enough for my mild rosacea.

Update* has gone up in price again. Its now $24. Not worth the price anymore. I was once an avid PC user. I now use nothing from this brand and don't really miss it. If this wash was more affordable I'd give it 5 stars. It used to be $19 just a few months ago. It's gone up a couple of times since I started using it. I understand everything has gone up but $22 is steep. With that being said this face was is my all time favorite from this brand and others. A small amount goes a very long way, it's not drying but doesn't leave any residue, cleans well, and doesn't burn my skin or eyes. A LOT of face washes make these claims but from my personal experience they ALWAYS fall short in at least one of those categories. This one however is on point. I'll keep buying it for those reasons alone and that it does last a long time.

I just started using this a few weeks ago and my skin is now in the best condition of my life. After a very steep price hike in my typical cleanser that I refused to pay, I decided to try something different. I stumbled upon Paula’s Choice brand and saw all the great reviews so gave it a try. I have acne-prone sensitive combination both oily and dry skin (with big pores) so it’s hard to find quality products that don’t trash my skin with acne, or make me oily or dry. This cleanser really does the job well. It does NOT strip your skin at all nor does it leave any coating or residue whatsoever. The cleanser itself has the best texture ever and you feel so clean afterwards. It’s a tad pricy but it’s worth it because a little bit goes a long way and it lathers up real nice. For example, a dime sized amount can clean my face, ears, neck, chest, and back. The bottle is also decently sized. I am happy to have found this product and am going to continue using it and possibly trying other items from this brand.

It is marketed as ultra gentle and it really is extremely gentle. Very good as a facial wash. It is simply the most gentle wash I have used. I hope that it continues to feel as gentle and yet cleansing.
