Can someone/somewhere please provide a comparison of the features of the various models of this turntable? Thanks!

The Debut Carbon is the base model. It has a steel platter and you'll need to manually change the drive belt to a different pulley to switch between 33 and 45 rpm records.The Debut Carbon DC is a step up from the base model. It has an upgraded power supply that provides better speed stability and less operating noise. The end result is that this table will sound slightly better than the base model. It also has a steel platter.The Debut Carbon DC Esprit SB is the top end of this model range. It has a button that allows for two playback speeds (33/45), as opposed to manually switching the belt to a different pulley. It also includes the uprated power supply that provides better speed stability and reduces playback noise. Finally, it includes an acrylic platter, which is an upgrade over the steel platter included in the lower models.

Do I need to buy a pre-amp for this?  I have a receiver already and turntable.

It depends on what you are hooking it up to. If your amp/receiver has dedicated Phono inputs on it instead of just Aux/Cd/TV and so on, then no you don’t. But if it does not include a Phono input you will need a preamp to hook the turntable up to and then connect the preamp to the amp/receiver. Or if your speakers are powered speakers you can just use a preamp without the amp/receiver. The options for this specific turntable (sense it doesn’t have a built in preamp) are 1) turntable- preamp- amp/receiver- non powered speakers 2)turntable- receiver/amp with phone input- non powered speakers 3) turntable- preamp- powered speakers 4) turntable- powered speakers with a phone input. If i buy the pro-ject  dc esprit, the cambridge - azur 351a amplifier and the audioengine a5+b shelf speakers will i need to buy a phono preamp?

Yes you will, as neither the Azur 351a amp or the auioengine a5 speakers have a phono preamp built in.
