Tried every travel pillow.. inc all the weird shaped ones.. all have the same problem: they don't keep your head from falling forward, so you always wake up - and that sudden fall forward is what wakes you up, and you're usually in pain from having your neck bent forward. This simple device attaches to the front of the headrest (most planes have semi-detached headrests mounted to the front of the seat so you do not have to put the strap around the back of the seat itself into the person behind you's space), and it keeps your head from falling forward. Voila. Sleeping soundly upright on a plane. Here're details of what worked for me: This is great for domestic flights where you can't recline (either because the seat doesn't actually recline, or because the space between seats is so tight that it's simply awful of you to recline and crush the person behind you.) I used it on two 13 hour Etihad flights. Those seats actually reclined, like you know how all airplane seats used to actually recline 30 years ago before they started trying to use flights as human-to-sardine converters. And this device works even more beautifully on seats that actually recline. The strap is long so you can configure it however you want- it works if you have it over your forehead, covering your eyes, or even down on your chin itself. It also can be attached by coming down over the top of the headrest, or coming up from below the headrest. It depends on your height. Shorter ppl might find attaching it from the top better. I found it better to put the strap in from the bottom of the headrest and then run it upwards so that the cushy part hangs over the top. (Should've taken a photo because that might make no sense without a visual.) Make sure you really lift off the headrest and get the strap secured in there otherwise it'll just keep slipping out. Don't worry- nobody's fingers ever go in those spaces so they're not icky or anything. The only downside to this is that once it's secured inside the headrest the adjustable part is inaccessible, so you have to adjust, insert, try, and repeat as many times as necessary to get the correct length for your comfort. For a 5+ hour flight spending 5 to 10 minutes getting it right is sooooo worth being able to sleep. It would be an improvement on the design if the adjustment buckles were closer to the front or closer to the cushy part. If your headrest has wings, you don't need a pillow if you make the strap tight enough. I used a regular generic u-shaped travel pillow positioned in front of my neck (not from the back because those pillows are always too fat behind my neck) and wrapping around the sides of my neck- that kept my head from moving sideways, and the strap kept my head upright. It's necessary to have side support with this thing (or with any pillow) so that your neck stays straight, but of course every other pillow in the market provides side support, and then you combine with this strap for the front support. The whole thing is soft and squishy and rolls up really tiny taking up maybe 3 inches of space or so, so bringing it along with your pillow is easy. I was really worried that I'd have to keep this strap really tight on my head for it to work, and I'd end up with a headache, but I kept the strap a little looser than I thought I'd need it, and the straps are stretchy so there's give, and I adjusted the length so that my head was able to move forward/backward maybe half an inch or so, and that's nowhere near enough for my head to "fall" or have any sudden movement, or to wake me up. And it was perfect- didn't squeeze my head or cause any discomfort. And the padded section is very thickly padded, so extra soft and extremely comfortable. The padded section is also very long so there was never any concern about my head ending up resting against the strap itself- the padding goes allll the way around front and sides of your head. Also, if you're sideways in the seat, leaning against the window, with your legs stretched out across the other 2 seats (which is pretty typical for passengers on emptier long haul flights), this strap works as well to keep your head against the seat, even though you're positioned sideways. After spending the 5 mins at the beginning finding the correct length i needed, the only issue I had was that I actually was able to sleep for hours, and comfortably on the plane ride, which meant I didn't get up and move around as much as I should have, so circulation became an issue. But really, that's only an issue because this device worked really well. This device - just a simple ordinary cushy strap - makes all those other complicated devices laughable. The simplest solution is always the best.

Love the travel pillow's functionality and it works well on long flights and during car trips. A good head support that keeps it from bobbing around. I appreciate its quality and softness. Comfort and sturdiness is very good. Love that it is not too tight in the eye area and adjustable. Did I say it was soft? lol. Love it.

Best flight sleep I've had. Simple design, small, lightweight, comfortable, good support. I wish it had the rubberized coating on both sides of the strap. If it did, it would work even on airplanes without a headrest. As is, it still works, but has a propensity to slide off the chair. Flip it inside out it works, just less soft and plush on the face.

Adjustable. Works ok. Improvement advise: instead of the fluffy side maybe replace it with satin so it doesnt leave marks on the face.

I was pleasantly surprised just how comfortable this sleeping aid helped on our recent over seas flights. There is nothing worst that doing the chicken nod/ neck snap as you fall asleep...only to wake up again...and that cycle repeats. This did not happen. Once dialed in and adjusted, it supported my head in such a way, that it eliminated the need for a neck pillow Really great cat nap on those flights. AND is packs well. It's actually rather small and not bulky to travel with. Very comfortable as a duel purpose eye cover and head support.

This was SO helpful to actually get decent sleep on a 10 hour flight. It held my head comfortably and allowed for deep relaxation. Definitely recommend, worth the money to have comfort and sleep on overnight flights.

I've tried everything & I hate traveling with bulky items. So this was the perfect item! I wear a neck gator for privacy & strap this around the headrest (if it's a separate unit that is adjustable, like on Delta) & it works great over the eyes or over the forehead. You can tighten it or loosen it to your liking & allow some range of motion while still keeping your head able to 'lean' on it. Works great. I've given all my other neck braces & supports away bc this is the only thing that's worked for me & I travel a lot with LONG international flights 10-14 hour legs.

So this generally works as advertised, however, there are a few caveats that need to be mentioned. The fleece is not as soft as it could be. I had to wrap a cotton T-shirt around it to keep it from irritating my face. Having the strap around my eyes created a lot of pressure in the sinus area, which was uncomfortable. Also, if your seat does not have a seam or adjustable headrest most likely you will be putting the strap across the screen of the person behind you, so if they’re trying to watch a movie or something on their screen, you wouldn’t be able to use this device. I found it most comfortable around my chin in conjunction with a neck support. Between the two items I was able to keep my head from bobbing too much but then you need a third item, an eye mask to block out the light. Another pro was it has a long strap so it’s very adjustable and the strap is stretchy which provides support without a harsh limit.

I've used this everytime I fly now, what a great simple invention, comfortable and stops that roll forward waking you up from sleep

The product i received was not what they advertised. It's not a plush strap with padding, it's just a piece of cloth. Also, there is no travel pouch included. It is very cheap and does not lengthen or shorten. In short it is unusable. And there is no refund.

Really helped me sleep. I have always struggled with the pillows and this is much better.
