do these gloves have a hard plastic palm puck or soft padding on the palm?

It has a hard plastic puck on the outer edge of the Palm toward the hill of the hand.

has anyone had issues with the seam rubbing between the thumb and finger?

No I haven't had any problems..very comfortable fit.

Are the sizes pretty accurate? Ive always had slight issues buying gloves. Short fat fingers.

Going by the size chart it says my hand is a size large but they were to tight. Got the XL and fit great.

Are these Dot approved?

I don’t think DOT approves gloves. But these gloves have some plastic armor. Gloves made specifically for motocross would probably be more protective. And of course you get what you pay for. However, having said all of that, the COFIT gloves seem pretty good to me.
