Perfect accompaniment to TV documentary
A perfect accompaniment to the recent BBC TV documentary. This was a gift for our 11 year old son who enjoyed every minute of the TV series, marvelling at the amazing footage (truly gorgeous in Ultra HD) and everyday battles of the creatures in our oceans. The book adds even more information and detail, with over 300 pages packed with text and more than 200 photographs and stills from the BBC series. There are seven chapters in total, each one linked to an episode in the TV series, although you don't need to have watched it before reading the book. There's also additional snippets of info from behind-the-scenes, revealing how some of that jaw-dropping footage is captured, and some insightful comments from the film crew. As with the TV series, there's a feeling of wonder and awe as you discover the creatures and landscapes, tinged with sadness and dread as you start to discover how human activity is slowly but irrevocably damaging these environments. It makes for difficult reading but perhaps if we take the lessons from this book we can do our bit to try and protect what's left.

How to Fall in Love with Printed Photography, Again.
This coffee book hardback is the perfect companion to the Blue Planet II documentary series and contains some of the most beautiful, alluring and utterly awe-inspiring underwater photography that I have ever seen. I bought it as a gift to give at christmas time, however, I actually decided to keep it for myself after thumbing through the first couple of chapters. Once you hold the book in your hands, its quality is instantly recognised through it's fantastically detailed images and its well made solidified feel. I would happily spend £15-20 on this book because its of high quality, so at £7.99 this should not be missed!

oceans
This pictorial book was published to complement the BBC programme of the same name. There are 7 chapters that cover 1) the ocean 2) the coast 3) coral reefs 4) green seas 5) blue seas 6) the deep and 7) our ocean. The book has a first class text and good pictures but many of these cover 2 pages that destroys thier integrity. ref 1092 Feb 26, 2018 isbn 9781849909679

I just see this in Tesco for 50p more pleased about getting from Amazon. Every little helps. My Son has watched on TV one episode every day since the first broadcast on BBC. He now watched number 6 with the crabs part as this is an early Christmas gift he now looking through every page, maybe he can't read yet, but I hope he will keep for a long time! And he's just 3and a half years old. Already excited looking at the super images and the totally breathtaking shots this book has captured the moments wonderfully.

Amazing and Beautiful. I love this book
This book is beautiful, the pictures are so stunning. It is educational and I will encourage children in the family to read this and look at the pictures. Having been to the Barrier Reef, some of these pictures are a reminder. But the scary thing is the pollution and plastics that are destroying such amazing things. I recommend this book to anyone of any age.

Stunning images and good development of detail.
The TV series is stunning and this complements the series. The images are stunning and speak for themselves, however the writing is careful, considered and really interesting. It makes it somehow more 'real'.
