According to the measurements, i'm on the cusp of xl & xxl but am losing weight slowly. do these run big or small?

I tend to be a standard 14 running to a 16 if there's cake on offer. I wear the size L whatever size I am, they fit great. Stretchy but not loose or baggy. If you're losing weight you'll probably be fine with the smaller size, they will fit you if you are a bit bigger I think. Hope that helps! X

Do they have a vpl? and do they make your thighs bulge outwards because they're too narrow on the thigh cut?

I’m perhaps not the best person to ask about vlp as my clothes are all loose fitting but I can say they are smooth, fit very well with no tight elastic around the waist or around the legs. They are so comfortable. I am a size 16/18 and the large size are perfect. Hope this helps !

2nd question. I do a lot of hiking. Do these rub or chafe at all during exercise?

The exercise I do is mainly pilates and hiking, so nothing like running or cycling for example, however I have found these pants to be very comfortable. I think they're unlikely to chafe.
