Hickory Summit Tabletop Hibachi Grill Set

Love this Hibachi. The flat grill plate will rust so I cooked some bacon then smeared it down, top and bottom with the bacon grease as you would a new iron skillet. Placed it back on the grill till the coals burnt out to cure. My only gripe is the grates slide fore and aft on the grill but my simple fis was to bend the 2 rear end grates down about 1/2 inch and now the grills lock between the inner and outer pan of the grill. see pic. I can highly recommend this brand/style of Hibachi but they could improve it with some anti-slide type of tabs.

This review is edited after contacting Hickory Summit by email. They responded quickly and sent a new grill out to me. I was more than a bit surprised and very pleased with this level of customer service. The grill is great, but there may be a problem with the strength of the attachment of the end panels to the main body of the grill. I'm very happy with the grill and it will be well worth repairing if I have a problem in the future. Again, Hickory Summit gets a 5 star review. I'm giving the grill "only 4" stars due to the potential for durability issues. This is the second one of these that I've had. The first we from Amazon Warehouse and arrived badly damaged and missing pieces. It was definitely damaged before shipping to me as it had notes from the previous buyer noting the damage and was not properly repackaged. I returned it but thought it had potential so ordered a new one. Arrived properly packaged and appeared in new condition. The good: Grill is a nice size, the accessories supplied are of good quality, did a nice job grilling chicken, the stainless steel components are heavily made. The bad: The end panels of the grill are not properly welded to the grill body. After a single use one of the ends has partially separated from the grill body. On the Warehouse unit the end panel was broken completely off, so I feel this is clearly a problem not unique to one sample. I'm keeping it as I can effect a mechanical repair of the end panel with a stainless corner bracket. This involves drilling and may not be something every consumer wishes to undertake.

I finally got to cook out on my new Hibachi Grill! So much fun and the food came out fantastic. I thought I made enough for leftovers, but my son went back for a third - LOL. I love how versatile it is with the skewers, grill grates, and flat-top. It comes with so many options however you want to grill. Anyway, I highly recommend this product - my family and I had so much fun cooking with it.

When it first arrived, I was excited — it came with a nice set of accessories including a grill net, plate, heat pad, and skewer sticks. The first couple of grilling sessions were actually great. It was fun, and the food turned out well. But unfortunately, the quality just didn’t hold up. After only a few uses, the grill started to rust and burn badly. It became super hard to clean, and within a month, it was basically unusable — just sitting there collecting dust. One major issue was the heat pad — it couldn’t handle the actual heat from the grill and ended up burning a hole through during use. On top of that, the skewer rack wasn’t deep enough, so the meat often ended up touching the heating coil, which was frustrating and unsafe. Overall, it had a lot of potential, but the poor durability and design flaws make it hard to recommend.

I wanted to give it a 5 star but after using the griddle I was so disappointed. It’s terribly rusted with just gentle hand wash. Now I realized when arrived it’s not even the same color as shown from product picture, which is black and seems to have some coating on it, but not on mine (it feels like raw metal)

This is well worth the money. Perfect for when you don’t want a big BBQ production. Solid construction and heavy gauge steel. High quality materials that will last
