I have used a variety of DAB radios but this one is the best. Reception here in Australia is a bit hit and miss when it comes DAB. However this radio apart from the others I used got all the DAB stations available and it doesn't cut in and out like some of the others that I have used. Talk stations sound is very good and here downunder we get the BBC WS, 24 hours a day via DAB in pristine quality. Then it's the music stations of the radio that really shine. Sound on these stations is excellent. Deep bass and crystal clear sounding music. Mostly the newer music has a bit more bass but older 80's music sounds just as good. Anyway I think i picked this up for around $70 and it is a bargain. Apart from the fact that it doesn't have a built in rechargeable battery it ticks all the boxes. And it certainly is the best radio of any sort that i have used. Just grab one!.

le Sangean DPR39 est un récepteur de poche FM (bande 2) et DAB+(bande 3) qui fonctionne uniquement avec un casque (je recommande un bon casque et pas les oreillettes fournies) et deux piles R06. Il fonctionne très bien avec des piles rechargeables R06, et comme tous les récepteurs DAB+ c'est un goinfre en énergie, donc il faut utiliser des piles rechargeables (6H d'autonomie environ avec des 2400 mAh). Il est sensible en DAB+ un peu moins en FM et l'audio est très bonne. En FM il affiche le radio texte du RDS. En DAB+ il affiche le nom du multiplex, le canal, la fréquence du multiplex, le débit de la radio, la date et l'heure. Le niveau du signal est un bargraph type téléphone mobile. 5 mémoires en FM et 5 en DAB+. Il n'a pas de fonction radio réveil et c'est logique, personne ne garde un casque en dormant. L'USB ne sert qu'aux mises à jour, or il est dans sa dernière version et le restera donc pas d'utilité. En résumé à l'usage journalier c'est un très bon récepteur baladeur pour le DAB+ et convenable en FM.

Very easy to handle even with one hand. The thumbwheel is great for navigating through the menus and also going up and down in frequency/station. It also functions as a pushbutton for confirming menu choices or toggling between the transmitted RDS information. RDS info includes timestamp, radio-text (often used for transmitting artist/title), program type category (News, Classic etc). The volume buttons on the other side are also easily accessible with the other fingers. In DAB mode, the pushbutton toggles through various info on the channel. The time is automatically adjusted by the transmitted station through FM or DAB. Time info is optional in FM so its better to use DAB for setting the time. Sensitivity for finding new stations is adjustable on FM. If the channel is particularly strong the receiver will switch to full stereo mode as can also be displayed on the screen. Battery consumption is normal and what would be expected for such a device. I used both IKEA and Eneloop rechargable batteries and I could use more than 3-4 days a couple of hours going back and forth from work. So I dont really see what people are complaining about in other reviews. DAB reception does consume a little more battery by nature but it is still acceptable. The screen backlight activates when pressing buttons and deactivates a few seconds later. Screen is always easily readable from many angles and in sunlight regardless of the backlight! Thats in part why its a pleasure to handle this radio. Five buttons on the top provide direct save and retrieval of stations. Its possible I might have wanted a button for switching between DAB and FM. The quality feels very good and looks very elegant. I havent tested the supplied headset because I use my own. One month into the purchase I havent had any suprises and I'm very satisfied with the radio!

Super little product that delivers good quality sound. A shame that the lowest volume is still too loud for wearing with earpieces but that was easily solved by buying a small adapter which allowed me to lower the volume even more. Great display and very easy to use. Good price. Overall? Very happy with the purchase and the delivery timelines.
