CYP AU-D3-192 AUDIENCE DIGITAL TO STEREO AUDIO CONVERTOR 192kHz

Bought to play TV through existing sound system. Works beautifully. No noticeable picture/audio delay. Comes with power supply.

This was purchased to converts digital audio from an LED tv to an analogue amplifier as an upgrade to the internal tv speakers. The sound quality is excellent and no delay between whats said on screen to that heard through the amp and speakers.

I bought a new TV without considering audio outputs. So I found, when it arrived, that the remote headphones I had been using didn't work.I had a problem - these are headphones for the hard of hearing and necessarily used most daysSo I was delighted to find the device which I could plug into the digital audio out and which would take the red and white plugs from the headphones.The only slight downside was that the output is so high that the headphones had to be set on their lowest setting and were still a bit loud even for me. The headphone supplier provided a solution - a free inline attenuator which reduced the level to perfection.

solved the problem as the blue ray player I had just bought had a coaxial out put but my amp didn't.excellent bit of kit.

The sound quality for the first 30 hours was very good. However the case of this little box seemed flimsy to say the least; so it was not a great surprise when the unit failed completely after a very short period. What was a surprise was the response of the seller when I contacted them twice to try to get a replacement. They utterly ignored me: it took Amazon to step in and refund the purchase price. I've now gone upmarket with an Arcam DAC, which sounds absolutely superb.

I bought the CYP AU-D3-192 from Richer Sounds and used it to connect my new LG 4K TV to my Arcam amplifier to improve the sound quality. I tried both the supplied PSU, just using a USB cable to a YouView box and also a different 1A USB charger. Powering the DAC using a USB cable to the YouView box produced audio output but unfortunately it struggled to maintain a consistent output level - the sound volume kept varying while in use. I then tried the supplied PSU and that seemed to work fine but then I started noticing small dips in the sound volume every few minutes - these dips were not reproduceable but occurred frequently enough to be annoying. I also tried a different 1A USB charger and that had the same problem. I then tried one of the cheap generic DAC you can buy for under £10 and that actually worked fine albeit with a lower sound level so the amplifier needs to be turned up a little higher to get the same audio volume. I ended up returning the CYP AU-D3-192 due to these audio issues. I don't know if my particular unit was faulty or whether there was some issue with the way my LG TV sends the optical digital ouput that was causing problems.

Bought this to replace one of the cheaper options available to solve a problem where certain sound formats would not be compatible and produce a very loud and ungodly sound. This unit seems to be just as incompatible but just goes silent when it encounters a problem,i’m considering this a win as the sound quality with this unit is excellent.

i used it for years and it's still working fine. an awesome tool! essential to use new lcd tv with old hi fi that still works great
