This GCSE English Workbook is meant to accompany the Text Guide for “Romeo and Juliet” and is suitable for all GCSE English courses, Grades 1-9. I was really pleased to see that CGP have produced these new workbooks, to match all the GCSE Text Guides and think they are a really useful addition to the range. This has five sections: Analysis of Acts, Characters, Context and Themes, Shakespeare’s Techniques and Exam Buster. As well as including lots and lots of questions, there are also useful suggestions on how to understand the questions, organise your answers and write them well. Full answers are included at the back of the book and there is also information on the marking scheme, showing students what they need to achieve for each band. Usefully, there are sample answers for students to mark – explaining why would give a particular mark, which makes them think about what they need to provide in order to get those extra marks. Overall, very clearly laid out, well designed, easy to use and extremely useful.

We use it as homeschoolers. I love the format: read a scene, then answer a couple of questions. Brilliant - simple.
