A handy general purpose prop-it-up stand with tons of uses
I'm really pleased with this clever little stand, which I've found out is actually available in two different handy sizes. The larger size is about 5.5 inches long and is great for propping up the back of a laptop on a desk or table, which makes for more ergonomic typing and much cooler operation. The smaller size, at 3.93 inches in length, is just right for smaller jobs like propping up the back of a phone or small tablet for better multimedia viewing - or in my case - for propping up the front of my smaller QRP Ham Radio Sets during field operation to make the front panel display easier to see and the controls easier to access. Some of the lower review scores seem to result from folks unexpectedly getting the smaller size, so make sure to order the size you will find most useful. The Steepy's support arms have been cleverly configured at slightly offset angles so that there are actually SIX ways to side-to-side orient the Steepy depending on the job at hand, 3 different heights x 2 different left to right orientations. Basically, at each of 3 heights, you can twirl the Steepy around 180 degrees left-to-right so that the side-to-side upper support arm either leans slightly towards you, or slightly away from you, which can help improve support depending on your application. For example, contrary to some of the promo pics in the Amazon listing, I have found that when propping up the REAR of a laptop you will most likely want the Steepy oriented so its upper support arm is ANGLED SLIGHTLY FORWARD (not leaning away as shown). That way when you prop your laptop on it, the Steepy will be leaning into the underside of the laptop at a better angle giving more stable support. This orientation change (sloping-forward or sloping-back), is easily handled as you set the Steepy down. For example, when I prop up the FRONT of one of my HAM radios, I flip the Steepy around left to right so its vertical support is leaning slightly AWAY from me (which is leaning INTO the underside of the radio it's supporting). This is a neat feature since one orientation generally works better when propping up the BACK of something like a laptop or tablet, where the other way around seems to work best when when propping up the FRONT. Occasionally, this rule may be reversed if the device has a ridge or slot along its underside that gives the Steepy better grip and stability in the opposite orientation, but this is easily checked since, worst case, you can just quickly flip the Steepy around and check out all SIX orientations and note the one that works best. The Steepy is a fairly simple item, and at first I thought the price was (no pun intended) just a little steep, but the quality metal construction and clever flexible design have made a believer out of me.No doubt, I will still be finding new uses for these handy little stands years from now (long after the devices I am currently using them with have gone to electronic recycle), and that makes them a great value; now, and for years to come!

Excellent design for durability
I have a few of these around my home studio and use them at mixing gigs too. For the way I use my IPad as a control surface, or just to see values I’m changing on the board itself, these are the perfect stand, and they seem pretty indestructible too. I've literally thrown one all the way to the back of the house, guy back there didn’t catch it, but it was fine. It was like a Hail Mary kind of pass, about 200ft. No one was there yet, I didn’t throw it over anyone’s heads. I wouldn’t do that. But it being so indestructible allowed me to be lazy because I really didn’t feel like walking all the way back there again. So I thought I’d mention it. The build quality is excellent. :)

Nice, adjustable height but laptop slides a bit
I bought this because a friend recommended I get it. Tbh, really love that it has different heights so I can set my laptop at different levels depending on what I’m doing. The design is really simple and minimal — the space in the middle for air to travel thru is great for my gaming laptop. It’s also quite sturdy which is surprising considering it’s not super thick and it’s plastic. My only complaint is that my laptop does tend to slide around on this even with the rubber pads at the edge of each “leg.” Really wish that didn’t happen so often.I bought another, magnetic one to see the difference and I do prefer the grip on that to these. BUT I still like this one and use it during work days.

Great Ergonomic Fix for My Keyboard – Sturdy and Adjustable!
Although this stand is marketed for laptops, I actually use it for my keyboard—and it’s perfect! My keyboard doesn’t have built-in legs for angling, so this stand was exactly what I needed. I love that it has three adjustable height levels, which lets me customize the slant and height depending on what’s most comfortable for my wrists. It’s super sturdy and doesn’t slide around while I’m typing, which is a huge plus. Compact, simple, and highly effective—definitely recommend it if you need a better ergonomic setup, whether for a keyboard or laptop!

Very effective
I have a laptop stand that I use mostly while sitting on the couch with my small dogs snuggled up on each side of me. It allows me to continue working and to be close to them at the same time. The Steepy laptop stand adds the perfect angel, allowing me to easily type and maneuver without disturbing my fur babies. I also use it on my kitchen counter while cooking or eating at the bar. It's great.

It works, but has quirks. Better for phone than laptop
It works, but not as well as I hoped.Problem 1- I really can only use it on the lowest height setting. The taller heights tip over very easily if you slide your laptop a little bit. I've tried it in both directions, one is a little better than the other, but both still will tip over.Problem 2- You have to make sure to line up your laptop absolutely straight with the stand, or the laptop will be uneven and rock back and forthProblem 3- if your laptop has a big gap in the hinge between the keyboard and cover, the stand can get stuck in the gap.So, it works, but honestly, I've continued to use my glasses case as a computer stand because it is easier to use than this. I prefer to use the Steepy to prop up my phone.

Perfect for the reMarkable!!
This is AMAZING!!!!! I have had a reMarkable for many years now, but never found any stand I could use to write on. I bought a case with a stand, and that kept falling. I bought a few types of stands, but they were not low enough to write on very comfortably. Or they would fall over, too. I have been looking for a long time. Here it is!!! Something so simple but yet the perfect answer to my problems! Now I can write on my reMarkable and it won't slide or fall off! This is great and the perfect size!!
