STEER SMARTS YETI XD™ JL/JT SECTOR SHAFT BRACE WITH TRACK BAR REINFORCEMENT BRACKET

This upgrade definitely tamed what I will refer to as a "mini death wobble". I am comfortable driving my jl wrangler at highway speeds without it being a terrifying experience (💩👖)It is slightly there but I plan on upgrading a couple of other things that will eliminate it completely. I should note that I have yet to lift my jeep and my tires are stock. All said, this upgrade is a must for jl owners since jeep doesn't have a solid answer to this problem. The install was fairly easy but if you are not mechanically inclined you will need to aquire some specialty tools (that can be rented) and a front end alignment is recommended. There are some solid videos on YouTube that will help you along as well. Definitely worth the money. Side note: the lock washers that are supplied are terrible. They spread apart before reaching the torque spec. I had some good ones laying around so I used those instead. Good luck. Hope this helps someone!

I added this due to the early Jl's have an aluminum steering gearbox. Before any conclusions are jumped to I have a bone stock 2018 Jl Rubicon 2dr with 20k miles on it. The Jeep would wander and needed constant steering wheel input while driving. After watching many videos and reading reviews I sprung for one of these and did the install. Product is great quialty, install is easy other then #1 you need a torque wrench that will go upto 180ftlbs, and can read angle as well. Install was easy about an hour, all holes line up perfectly. The only issue I had was the lock washers they supply for the 4 steering gearbox bolts are junk. When torquing they sqaush to the point they spread open and come out from behind the bolt. Do yourself a favor and when your out and about grabing loctite also grab 4 new lock washers before the install. Other than that the product is amazing, tightened the steering right up, and it is a dream to drive on the freeway. No more sawing action or drifting with the slightest bit of wind, or road hump.

To accommodate upcoming larger tires, I opted for the STEER SMARTS YETI XD installation. The entire setup, which I completed in my driveway, spanned approximately 2 hours. The absence of a manual wasn’t an issue due to the abundance of instructional videos available online, making the process quite intuitive. Post-installation, the highway driving experience has significantly enhanced, with a notable reduction in steering ‘wander’. Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the performance of this upgrade.

To start off, the 42mm wouldn't fit on the stock nut. I ended up using a 1-11/16". And the lock tight on the stock nut was tough to get off. I had to use a breaker bar. The 1/2" impact wouldn't get it off.The track bar was fully removed. I couldn't get to the nut by removing one end. Then I ended up replacing it with an upgraded track bar.I put everything together loosely so I could line everything up. I tried all different ways and couldn't get one of the small bolts to line up. Even when I used the track bar bolt to hold it, everything wouldn't line up. I only ended up putting one of the small bolts. The other side was messed up so I'll need to order a new bearing. The small bolt was ruined as well. Luckily, I found it to be an M8x1.25.The quality of the bracket is great. It looks sturdy. When I tightened all 4 bolts, I wasn't able to get the track bar bolt out.I had to keep all the bolts loose, tighten the small one into the bearing first, then the track bar bolt, then the 4 bracket bolts.Mad it didn't fit properly and now stuck with it. Can't recommend it and out hundreds of dollars.

Definitely worth the money. Local dealerships wouldn’t help on the alum steering box TSB. After installing 35’s steering wander increased. This brace saved the day. With the additional bracing my JT handles better than ever.

Build quality seems good but holes didn’t line up. Sent for a new one to see if I had a bad one. Will update once new one is received.
