The build quality of these units is very impressive. They feel heavy and solid, not fragile like some of the other cheaper options. They aren’t too heavy to carry around but I wouldn’t be concerned about them being broken if I just dropped them in my bag. Having physical controls is also really useful — there’s no messing around with menu screens, just one dial for brightness and one for colour temperature. The light they give off is nice and even, well dispersed, and impressively powerful — I used one light to work from in a power cut one night recently and got a good half hour of light on full brightness before the battery ran out (I don’t think it was fully charged, either). So these are really great for videography on the go and have become important parts of my live-streaming kit. It’s worth noting they aren’t full colour, they just do various shades of white, and don’t have the snazzy lighting effects you can find on other devices. But for the price and for the specific task of key or fill lighting, I don’t think you’ll find anything better.

Great little versatile light which served well on an overseas trip where everything had to fit in one bag. It won't last long on the internal battery on full power (very bright) but as I was using it for interviews at night I didn't go there - if you do be prepared for a noticeable fan noise. But as a small key light/fill light on location for a head and shoulder type thing it's brilliant. I cut some scrim and attached with velcro to make a travel friendly softbox-ish light modifier which you need as it's pretty harsh even with the inbuilt modifer. You can use & charge off a battery pack too. Recommended.

Tried this already on the streets of London and I couldn’t believe how bright this light can be. Definitely not needed at full power so the battery lasts actually very long! I was also lucky enough to get its silicon cover sent for free and the whole set is now complete and perfect! As I plan to shoot some portraits on low light this will definitely help me even out the lighting throughout their faces. A BIG MASSIVE thank you to Mina who assisted me through some delivery issues. I was after a small light with a bit of punch to keep in my kit bag. This certainly kicks out a lot of light for its size. The downsides are that it gets hot quickly and the fan kicks in within a few minutes - which, at full speed is really loud - it couldn't be used near microphones if recording important audio. Also the internal battery will last less than 30 mins on full power, shame there isn't a battery shoe on the back to use external NP-L type batts. The case has big vents (understandably) but this also means it has zero water protection, and the only mounting points are on the moveable arm at one end - there are no 1/4" holes along the body, limiting mounting options and giving it a weird centre-of-gravity. For all its impressive technical ability, the design needs a bit more thought.

Incredible light from Zhiyun, very small and compact but don’t let it’s size fool you, it really packs a punch. Super easy to use with great mounting options. A game changer for people on the go or wanting to light places where there is limited space.

Using for low light photography, as a hand held extra light spurce. The quality is very good, extremely bright! I haven't managed to test its battery fully, this will get updated if I find any negatives, none as yet!

The light itself is good, but in the picture, you can see the attachment for the camera, which I didn't get. Now I have to purchase it separately.

Questa torcia LED Zhiyun Fiveray M40 è una di quelle luci che ti fanno dire: “ok, ora capisco cosa vuol dire illuminazione fatta bene”. Compatta, potentissima e pensata chiaramente per chi fa video, foto o content creation seriamente, anche in mobilità. Me ne sono totalmente innamorato. I 40W reali si sentono tutti: la luce è forte davvero, uniforme e pulita, perfetta sia come key light ravvicinata sia come fill o luce d’accento. Io la utilizzo anche per visite in locali bui o per esplorazioni. Il range di temperatura colore permette di adattarla a qualsiasi ambiente senza dominanti strane, e la resa cromatica è ottima, con colori naturali e pelle ben bilanciata. Uno dei veri punti forti è il raffreddamento attivo: nonostante la potenza, la M40 resta gestibile e affidabile anche durante utilizzi prolungati. Le manopole fisiche per intensità e temperatura sono comodissime, precise e infinitamente più pratiche dei menu digitali. Costruzione solidissima, feeling premium e dimensioni compatte: entra nello zaino senza problemi ma illumina come una luce molto più grande. Perfetta per desk setup, riprese YouTube, streaming, interviste, esplorazioni, visite immobiliari e shooting on-the-go. Me encanta esta lámpara! En imagen es difícil mostrar la intensidad real de la luz pero de verdad me sorprendió… puedo alumbrar un cuarto entero con ella. Los controles son muy básicos pero funcionan bien. El control de la temperatura de la luz es bueno y Al 50% de intensidad me ha dado una autonomía de más de una hora. El ventilador es silencioso y la patita que tiene es muy práctica. Si buscas una lampara básica pero MUY potente yo creo que esta es buenísima a demás es tan bonita ✨

Cela fait maintenant plusieurs années que je l'utilise pour créer du volume en interview et déboucher des petites zones. Tellement pratique montée sur ma caméra lors des soirs de mariage. Attention, la ventilation audible et les réglages manuels limitent son utilisation en conditions silencieuses ou en multi‑lumières synchronisées. Mais le produit reste totalement validé, avec une belle puissance et une compacité appréciables.
