Skeptic Turned Thankful Believer
I’m a woman in my mid-forties still fighting the good fight against gray hair—but regular salon visits every 4–6 weeks just aren’t realistic anymore. With naturally dark hair, my roots are obvious fast, and my dyed ends tend to turn brassy or grassy in between appointments.I came across this L’Oréal gloss while searching for a way to stretch the time between salon visits, and honestly, I didn’t expect much. But wow—this product blew me away.It tones down the brassiness beautifully and leaves my brown hair looking rich, shiny, and refreshed. No more orange ends. No more dullness. And it doesn’t just look better—it feels softer too. One bottle lasts me three applications, which makes it incredibly budget-friendly.If you’re on the fence, especially with darker hair and stubborn grays, give this a shot. It’s now a permanent part of my hair care routine—and I wish I’d found it sooner!

Natural silver/white without the yellow every time!
I have tried everything to keep my gray from turning yellow- even professionals have not been able to lift the yellow with bleach or toners, semi-permanent or permanent. I use purple masks and have every anti-yellow product under the sun This is the magic bullet! For pennies vs. hundreds of dollars, my hair stays silver/white without dryness for a few weeks. I get two treatments out of each tube and it’s the best product I’ve found for consistent color minus the yellow. The other plus is that you can leave it on over the recommended 10-15 minutes and never worry about having purple hair that you have to wash out to get the desired shade. The box shows the results and it works every time, leaving my hair shiny and soft.

Beautiful Color
I recently tried the L'Oreal Paris Le Color Gloss One Step Toning Gloss in Silver Slate, and I am beyond impressed! As someone with color-treated hair that tends to get brassy over time, I was on the hunt for a product that could refresh my color without the commitment of a full dye job. This product did exactly that and more.Easy to UseThe fact that this gloss works in the shower is a game changer. It’s a simple, no-fuss process—apply it to damp hair, leave it on for about 10-15 minutes, and rinse. I love that it doesn’t require mixing or a separate developer, making it perfect for those days when I need a quick color boost. Plus, it doesn’t drip everywhere, which is a huge plus!Toning and Conditioning in OneThe Silver Slate color toned my hair beautifully, neutralizing the unwanted brassiness and leaving a cool, ashy tone that looks salon-fresh. But what really impressed me was how soft and conditioned my hair felt after using it. The deep conditioning aspect of this product is fantastic—it left my hair shiny, smooth, and hydrated without weighing it down.Color ResultsThe color is subtle but effective. It gave my hair a gorgeous cool tone that wasn’t too harsh or unnatural. If you're looking for a dramatic change, this might not be for you, but for maintenance and refreshing your color, it's perfect. I also noticed that the color stayed vibrant for several washes, so it’s definitely long-lasting.No Damage, No Harsh SmellUnlike some toners, this one doesn’t have a strong chemical smell, which made the experience so much more pleasant. It also didn’t dry out my hair or cause any damage, which is a concern I usually have with toning products. My hair felt healthier after using it!Final ThoughtsOverall, the L'Oreal Paris Le Color Gloss in Silver Slate is an amazing product if you're looking to maintain and tone your color at home. The one-step, in-shower process is incredibly convenient, and the fact that it deep conditions while toning is a huge bonus. I’ll definitely be keeping this in my regular hair care routine! Highly recommended for anyone looking to cool down brassiness and add shine. One Star RemovedI gave it 4 stars because sadly, despite it saying it will last up to 10 days, it lasted 3 for me because on day 3 when I washed it, all of the toner washed away. I would love to find a color like this that would last through a few washes without damaging my hair.

Beautiful results
Oh, wow, this stuff product is great! We spend summers in the high mountains and hard water and dry air do a number on my grey hair—dingy, dry and coarse-feeling after the first was and it only gets worse as time goes on. I used a good moisturizing mask and then applied this product, left it for 15 minutes before rinsing out. I wasn’t optimistic, msince I’ve tried a lot of things over the years. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I dried my hair and saw how silvery and shiny it looked, and it’s soft and manageable, too. The softness is probably down to the hair mask, but the improved color and shine is not, because I’ve used that same mask before without those results. I will buy this product again for sure.

Disappointing!!
I really wanted to love the L'Oreal Paris Le Color Gloss One Step In-Shower Toning Hair Gloss, but it fell short in more ways than one. I read all the other reviews and many who had purchased this product loved it and gave great reviews which is why I purchased it.My Review:Application process: While the "one-step" claim sounds easy, it’s messier than I anticipated. The gloss is thick and slippery, and very purple and will stain your hands and hairline to so be careful with application and wear gloves. Results: I used the product to neutralize some blonde/yellow areas of my mostly white with pepper hair. Unfortunately after leaving the product on for more that 40 minutes I didn't see much of a difference. My hair color looked pretty much the same as before—yellow tones still there.Conditioning claims: It left my hair feeling slightly smoother, but no more than a regular conditioner would. For a product marketed as a gloss and toner, I expected more shine and color correction.Smell: The fragrance is nice, but it’s overpowering and lingered longer than I wanted. For the price, I was hoping for salon-like results at home, but this didn’t deliver. I was really hoping this would work better that the Purple shampoo and conditioner I was previously using.
