My skin didn't feel painful but it definitely gave my face what I might describe as a prednisone flush? It faded after an hour or so and there was no lingering pain or peeling. Nothing unpleasant after the initial hour of heat and redness. I just looked very fresh-faced after that, which was nice. The most amazing part is that, even though I thought that I pre-washed my face very thoroughly, the toner on a cotton round still picked up foundation and concealer that had been hiding in my pores. Fairly satisfying to see, actually.

I went through a time period when I had skin barrier issues and my skin was peeling randomly. I used this every other day and it was helpful in clearing up the dead skin without excessively drying it.

PROS: skin looks great no flaking (#1 for me) makeup does not go orange from oxidation moist for sure CONS: sticky oily feel lasts - simply does not feel clean after use and must scrub it off hands - taste rubs off if prepare food HOURS later?!

This toner will stand neck and neck with a few medical grade toners you can find at Dr's offices for 1/2 the price.

My skin is extremely sensitive so I was nervous about trying this product but it wasn't irritating at all. I also love that it is fragrance-free and affordable
