I bought this as the pizzas stuck to the metal peel we already had (presumably as it gets warm in the oven removing the previous pizza?). So now we use this wooden one to it the pizzas in with and I'm delighted to report they slide off beautifully!

I was previously using a wooden cutting board to transfer homemade pizzas into my oven, so I'd say this pizza peel is a definite step up. My first pizza almost landed against the back wall of my oven. It's that easy to slide the pizza off the peel. The buyer should be aware that this is a very basic peel however. Some things that I noticed right off the bat: 1) The pizza peel is just cut from a raw piece of wood and sanded. - When I received it, I needed to rub it 3 times with mineral oil to seal the outer surface of the wood. It could probably have used a fourth coat, but I was getting impatient. 2) There's no practical way to store the pizza peel as delivered from the manufacturer. - I needed to cut a hole in the end of the handle so that I could hang the peel for storage. Given the length of the handle, I think it should have been a given that the peel should have been constructed this way to begin with. It's a bit strange that I needed to do this step myself. 3) The wood is not very heavy. - This could also be considered a positive aspect, in terms of ease of use. It's possible for me to press grooves into the peel with my thumbnail. I would NOT recommend cutting your finished pizza on the peel. You will almost certainly cut deep grooves into the wood, making it harder to transfer pizzas into the oven in the future. All in all, I think the pizza peel holds up in terms of its price. It's certainly a good first peel for a home cook like myself.

The recipient of this informs me that it is ideal, far better than a metal paddle, for the use of removing pizzas from an Oooni pizza oven. They say it's a "game changer" and are delighted with it's performance. It is a quality durable item which cleans easily. It was also a great price and the delivery time was perfect. I have seen this used for the purpose stated and can confirm that you would not think, with it being wood, that it had been used in a pizza oven with such intense heat. It didn't falter or burn! I can only pass on the information that I am given from the user in the hope that it assists others in deciding if it will be suitable for their intended use. I hope this helps :)

This paddle is ideal for our out door Mila pizza oven. It is well made, sturdy easy to clean and not heavy. We look for several weeks into paddles and after reading many reviews we selected two of these.

I certainly expected an oiled and treated peel, I didn't expect this to be rough sanded. My biggest issue is the quality of the form in respect to the price. The pictures I have shared are over runs where the router has wandered but I feel like that's from the form used. It will work, but it's just not something I would keep on show sadly. Quality and wood choice has let this down for me.

The product is just as I hoped, and wood is definitely the right material if you want to be able to shoot a pizza into the oven. Just a light dusting of rice flour is enough to keep the pizza from sticking. My slight grumble is only about the product decription on Amazon, which is unclear about the most important detail. To clarify: 36cm is the width, so this peel is comfortably wide enough to take a 12-inch pizza. (While I'm giving dimensions, the whole peel is 108cm long.)
