Fantastic
I bought one originally for my trim carpenter that has an old different kind of cutting tool for shoe molding and other small wood. This cutter is absolutely great! It doesn't dent any kind of wood you put in to cut. A great clean cut. I now have one of the same and the ratchet portion works like a charm. Even comes with another new blade but I don't know if I'll ever have to use it...SSS

Works like it should
Working with trim carpentry I find myself needing to install small segments of shoe molding and it’s a pain to break out my saw for small jobs. I bought this thinking it would not work well and I’d end up returning it. I was wrong. They work very well and cut clean. You can lock in the degree you need to cut and make quick, quiet and repeatable cuts. It comes with an extra blade but I’ve not had to use it yet. I e already made over 100 cuts and it still works well.

I don’t know where these have been all my life. Definitely a tool I could have used so many times before. Great for crafts. Came with a spare blade too!

speeds up the trim projects
Works well with the smaller trim diameters. Speeds up the process of 1/2 round pieces being cut! Wish I would have known about this product a few years earlier! Definitely get the ratchet type or you will get a sore hand.

Not fit for purpose
As soon as I received this tool, I tested it on some 11/16" shoe molding and discovered two big problems. The first is that when fully open, there is not enough space under the blade for the molding to sit flush against the fence either side of the blade. This means that the angle of the cut is very likely to be inaccurate. The second problem is that the ratchet mechanism doesn't return properly meaning that the handles have to be manually opened between squeezes to continue the cut.

Wonderful little tool
Before I spent $600 for a high level framing filler chopper, decided to give this a try. Love it. Yes, it has the ridge in the middle, but some easy trim work and great results. Cuts like butter, glad I paid a few dollars more for the ratchet version. Nice quality and also ordered the 3-pack of blades.
