Family Guy - Season 12 [DVD]

Legendary!
Can you really expect less than five stars from a Family Guy fan? Full of offensive humour and just keeps getting better with age.

life in modern america
this is a tale of peter(guy), his family(lois, meg, chris and stewie) and their talking dog (brian). not forgetting peters friends, joe(the cripple) cleveland(the black) and Quagmire(the pilot), sounding a bit kookie already, right, well youre not wrong lolIts really just a tale of everyday folk as they struggle and strive through the mundane challenges and events that face us all really, but somehow peter and the gang seem to always see the funny side of things.Highly recommended to get a fascinating insight into contemporary american life and society.

Scurrilous as ever
Discovered this season was missing from my Family Guy collection, so couldn't resist when I found it via a third party seller for less than a fiver. Well done andy t o for an as new DVD. I love many of the episodes in this series; Peter intent on being royalty, the hilarious portrayal of British orthodontics and one of my favourites, Stewie using the time machine to return to the pilot episode. Scurrilous, rude, prescient, intelligent...you'll love it or hate it but either way, this is really well written comedy with acute social observation. It's often not politically correct, but it's always relevant . Three discs and a huge bundle of extras. Brilliant.

value for money at last
still grates that they have some seasons with less episodes (as its not really in season order) so i got this ne one more episodes value for moneywhen seasons 1-3 were actually FULL seasons then fox greedy later on doing fewer episodes per season which was a slap in the face for fans butthe box set at 35 quid is a bargain but if like me you picked up season 1-8 in a box set before your stuck buying them every season lolohh well its does not matter still a great set

The best series for a while
I've always loved/hated Family Guy, if that makes sense; some of the episodes produced have varied between brilliant, lazily structured and utterly crap. Among my favorites in this season was the episode where Peter and co. find themselves in prison in the Deep South and an episode where Lois kidnaps a friend of Stewie's who has cancer and whose Christian Scientist parents are refusing medical treatment. Also in the set is an episode where Ricky Gervais makes a guest starring appearance as an annoying dolphin; there is a fawning featurette in which Seth MacFarlane praises Gervais and Gervais praises MacFarlane. Gervais says in the interview that the dolphin might become a recurring character. I know people like Gervais, I'm just not one of them.
