Best Board Game Out There
Avid board gamer here. Big fan of strategy games and "Euro" games. I can confidently say that Pandemic: Legacy Season 2 is the most fun I've ever had while playing a board game. You do not need to have played Season 1 to enjoy Season 2, though it does give some great texture to Season 2's storyline. The designers have done an amazing job at creating a game that has extremely similar mechanics to its predecessors, but with a much, much different feel & gameplay. While Season 2 might be slightly easier and not quite as technically well-crafted as Season 1 (there were a time or two where we saw ways to "break the game"), the exploration aspect is so much fun and the twists & turns in the story are as good as ever. They tweaked character abilities, game end upgrades, and added a randomization component to scars, all greatly improving upon what was already a solid game.I absolutely loved Season 1, and I'm happy to say that Season 2 has exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to see what these guys cook up next.

Fantastic board game with a great plot!
We played through the whole game as a party of 2 and found it to be well balanced and an extremely good time. This is probably my favorite board game experience ever. It has a plot that builds on what happened in the first Legacy game, so I recommend playing that first so events in the game mean more to you. The mechanics are somewhat different from normal Pandemic, but also similar. We found it to be more difficult than the first Pandemic Legacy game. I think we lost ... 4 games total, as opposed to one game in Season 1.My only complaint is that some of the stickers didn't stick well, and I needed to use some glue to get the additional rule stickers and role upgrade stickers to adhere to their respective cards. For those who are concerned about the price for a game that is a consumable product, it is worth it. Think of it like a movie or theater... 12+ evenings of good gameplay that draws you in and makes you feel like you are managing resources in a post-apocalyptic world.

Great game with a great story
Having played Pandemic and Pandemic: Legacy Season 1 I was very familiar with the overall concept. However, this game's mechanics are very different, so in the end it doesn't matter if you have played the other Pandemic. The story builds upon that of Season 1, but it is independent in many ways so you can enjoy the game just as well without playing Season 1. This is a very tense game, where you have to take decisions that could cost your character its life. It is a very challenging game too, so you have to take risks, speak a lot with your teammates and have a lot of discussions about what to do. So, find 3 friends that commit to this story and enjoy long nights trying to save the world.

The box was NOT sealed.
There was no plastic wrapping the box. We were very concerned because we've heard a lot of board games sold on Amazon are replicas. Luckily there were no missing pieces and it seemed like everything was intact so we didn't return it. I think Amazon could have just shipped us a returned product. the minus 1 star is for Amazon.

Favorite family time
Loved the first season, and glad to see that the second season adds new elements to the game and a fresh twist into the story line. We play this game as a family of 4 and it's been a great activity for family time. I hope that Fantasy Flight keeps up the great games!

Great for dedicated group
This is a great legacy game for a dedicated group of three to four players. We finished the first season in January and have been playing this one ever since, and although the novelty of the first one is now lost the mechanics and gameplay are just as fun! Great game by z-man.

Incredible design, but it’s not for everyone…
This is a spoiler-free review of a play-through with 2 people playing 4 characters (2 characters per player).THE HIGHLIGHTS:• Superb world-building, with a well-told story.• Excellent overall concept and art design.• A great sense of exploration.• Like the first season, it’s genuinely fun to see what comes next.• Success is VERY gratifying... because it isn't guaranteed at all.• A better balance of player actions (versus S1).• A good balance between difficulty and enjoyment.• Tons of depth to the strategy.THINGS TO BE AWARE OF:• Like S1, the full campaign is a major time commitment.• Steep learning curve if you skipped previous versions.• Bad decisions and early mistakes can cause frustration later on.• A dedicated partner/playgroup is crucial.• Long setup time, high complexity. • Zero replay value after finishing the campaign.• Aspects of it are pretty bleak.OTHER THOUGHTS:If you enjoyed S1 of Legacy, you'll absolutely love this, and I would highly recommend it. And, even if you didn't like the previous season, it might still be worth playing this sequel, as it is significantly different—it's not simply a rehash of the first season. It’s technically not a requirement to have played either the base Pandemic or S1 before playing S2, but I think it's a major advantage to do so.Be aware this isn't something that can be easily picked up and played casually. It's tough for people to join in the middle of the campaign, and it could be overwhelming for people new to the Pandemic series. I definitely wouldn't purchase this as a gift unless you know someone has played and enjoyed the previous games. There’s a long setup time (especially if you want to do a “practice” month), a fairly steep learning curve, and relatively high complexity, which keeps this from something that you can quickly jump into. In that regard, this game definitely won't be for everyone. In S2, there’s a better balance between player actions—it felt like all characters could make important and impactful actions. With that said, there are times where characters simply become vehicles to shift/share resources. This is why it’s nice to play in a way where 2 players each get 2 characters.Due to the inherent design of the game, it essentially has zero replay value. You can’t just “put it all back in the box” and restart it later. It's a trade-off... the Legacy game design is absolutely innovative, but it's a one-time experience.THE BOTTOM LINE:Legacy: Season 2 is a fantastic game, and it’s clear that the creators gave a ton of love and attention to this sequel. As long as you have a consistent partner or playgroup, it’s an excellent, awesome follow-up to Season 1, and is absolutely worth your time. Just be aware of the commitment—it's not for everyone.
