Landzie Stand-up Manual Weeder

Very happy with this weeder. Just screwed the handle together & started weeding. Following instructions, I centered the weeder over a weed. Then stepped on the lever to insert into the ground. Easy. Leaned the weeder toward the lever & the weed came out very easily. It took me a few seconds to realize the weed was already out, root & all. Tested on several good size weeds, that had medium depth roots. Tested in Albuquerque, NM where the soil is mostly clayey, & at the time had little moisture. To remove the weed from the tool, just stepped on the weed & lifted the weeder. Easy. I have lots of weeds, so will weed, step them off & rake up later after letting them dry out. I like that the weeder is heavy duty, think I'll get a lot of use of out of it, and it will stand up to attacking some larger weeds too. I'm 73 YO & had no trouble lifting & handling it.

Works great on larger weeds with deep roots. The handle comes in two parts and needs to be screwed together. It can twist loose a little bit in use and require tightening. Thinking of using CA glue to prevent that. Again, works great on larger weeds.

I debated on ordering 1800's designed Grandpa's weeding tool or this one, which the Landzie weeder is similar to Grandpa's weeding tool with a few alterations. The Landzie tool is metal and the handle comes in 2 pieces that screw together, not to mention is currently $5.00 less expensive than Grandpa's weeding tool. I worried over the weight of the product, but the metal is really strong and I don't need to worry about stepping on it and breaking the handle. The weight of the metal handle can be a bonus because it is strong enough or has enough torque to pry a weed out without requiring too much strength from the user.Another one I really considered was the Fiskar weeding tool that had this really nice feature where it had a sliding piece that pushes the weed out of the fork. But the Fiskar was $47 compared to the Landzi $34 product. If the Fiskar product was all metal, I would have bought the Fiskar weeding tool. Even though I own many Fiskar gardening tools, but because Fiskar had plastic parts I didn't feel that it would justify the extra cost nor will it last.I was able to test out the Landzie tool this last weekend. It works well. It's a bit harder to grasp the smaller dandilions, but for the most part, it works fairly well. I just step on the weed to remove it from the fork. If Landzie will alter the design to include a piece that will push the weed off the fork like the Fiskar tool, then I would definitely give the Landzie tool 5 stars. However, since the Landzie tool does not have this feature, I only ranked the Landzie tool 4 stars overall.

The Landzie Weed Remover Tool works great. Saves me time and keeps me from bending over numerous times to pick up or pull the weeds. It does what is advertised. I showed someone else how it works and he oordetef one also. I cleared my yard of unwanted Crabgrass using the Landzie Weed removal too. It will leave a small divit but that's due to getting all the root of the weed out. It's worth it getting the total weed AND root out. The tool is sturdy and built well. The price fair and as much as I have used it, it has already proven to be a very good tool worth the money. I definately recommend to anyone. Who hates pulling Crabgrass with on their hands and knees. Best weeding tool I have bought.

I thought there would be lugging and twisting to get the crabgrass out, but it's so easy. Stick the prongs in the middle of the weed and step on the foot step and bend it over a little and they pop out!

Aside from appearing to be a pretty sturdy tool, this thing is more frustrating than it's worth. It's much faster to just reach down and pull the weeds. If the ground is moist, you spend more time getting the soil off of the "claw" than it takes to pull the weed (and you can't go after another weed if the claw is clogged)... If the ground is dry, its hard to get the claw deep enough to grab the weed. If you have mobility issues and can't reach down to pull the weeds, save the money and pay someone to do it!!!

Tool is made of heavy steel which makes it feel practically indestructible. Takes a little bit to get used to, but you will be ripping up the entire weeds, roots and all in no time. Could have used instructions, but a simple tool regardless. My wife and I love using it in our yards. Took care of a ton of foxtail and other crabgrass type weeds with little relative effort.

I live out in the country and I bought this tool to help get rid of the weeds in my yard. It looked great, it was easy to assemble, and light enough to carry around. However, I learned that this tool does not do well with smaller weeds. It worked quick to pull the larger weeds but I had to go back in with another tool to get the smaller weeds.Update: I have changed my review from 3 to 4 stars. The company reached out to me and offered a refund and I really appreciate that.

Updated:Customer support was very kind and attentive, and they did send me a replacement unit. The way this tool works is quite interesting and was great to be able to use again. But will be wary of using on stronger weeds or roots that can force the joints and break similar to the previous unit. Overall, very recommended, I'm sure it will handle 99% of household weeds.It is in fact quite easy to use and was exciting during the first 2 weeds. It could not handle the 3rd one though, and the metal 'pedal' broke entirely.

Excellent tool for removing thistles and other big weeds from the lawn,and doesn't leave big holes when weed removed good value for money and would recommend to anyone

Das warten hat sich gelohnt (7 Tage)! Dieser Unkrautstecher ist komplett aus Metall. Funktioniert einwandfrei. Die Greifzange ist nicht zu groß, es entstehen keine großen Löcher.

I saw a similar product in France but this product is a stringer construction and cheaper. Easy to use after a little practice providing good results removing tap roots and leaving minimal damage.

Feels like it is well made, but the metal is extremely brittle. Probably fine for small weeds, but simply not up to the job for larger things like dockleaves. Very dissatisfied, will try to get a refund as simply not fit for purpose. Can't recommend this, £40 wasted as it broke within 5 minutes of use. To be fair to the seller, they responded quickly and are sending a replacement. I just hope it isn't just as brittle a metal as it will just snap again. Looks like cast iron rather than steel in the gripping mechanism.
