We appreciate our Pronto Magicard printer as a convenient, cost-effect way to create badges for employees. The Bodno software it comes with is quite user-friendly. The print quality has been great but just got better with their Tech Support. I have used their tech support a few times and each time, my issues have been quite expeditiously fixed with super friendly, professional, and clear communicators. This round, I called in because the printer was just spinning. Felix was immensely helpful! He tried a few tricks to repair the issue, ultimately, uninstalling/reinstalling the driver. He even optimized my settings for me so the quality of the photo is enhanced. Beautiful! You can tell they hire great folks to support their good equipment.

Be prepared to waste twice as many as you produce.
It's garbage. Utter trash. I'll take it by category:Print quality: Leaves much to be desired. Photos are not crisp. Color registration on fine details is way off, leaving a magenta ghosting effect on nearly everything, even after repeated cleaning of the rollers and replacement of the ribbon.Ease of use - Software: The Bodno software license key randomly disconnects, so your license to the software shuts off mid-use. The only way to restore the full version is to reset the key in the preferences, and then restart the software. From that point you have about 2 minutes to finish and print your project before it happens again. It was so cumbersome that I stopped using the software and started printing straight from Acrobat.Ease of use - Printer: The printer loses connectivity and has to be unplugged and replugged after each print job. The obvious solution would be to send multiple pages at once, but THE PRINTER WILL WITHOUT FAIL JAM EVERY OTHER CARD YOU PRINT. The red light will come on. You will have to open the printer, waste an entire card's worth of ribbon, and awkwardly remove the jammed card. This will happen regardless of how thoroughly you clean the rollers after each use. You WILL waste 3-4x as many cards as you successfully print. Plan accordingly.And of course the ribbons aren't cheap either. So although this kit says it comes with enough materials to get 100 badges, you will end up with 30-35 or so usable ones, if you're lucky.I regret everything about this purchase. Do yourself a favor and spend a few more bucks.

Purchased the printer (second one, had worn out one already, well used!) and had issues installing the software because of older system. Contacted support and Byron had me up and running in less than 5 minutes. Good printer, good company, good support staff!

Really good product, even better tech support
The perfect solution for a small business owners - Highly recommend this printer for all of your small business needs - well worth the price but if you intend to use these with a lanyard recommend getting the hole punch in advance (I forgot to order mine up front)I recently purchased this for my kayak rental business to produce membership and partner cards for guests/customers & our partner network to use when booking on our behalf (they can scan a QR code on their card to book!). Will be posting an unboxing and a video of some of my final products (will post here & YouTube). Takes about 10-20 minutes to set up depending on how clean of an area you are setting it up. I needed to make a few adjustments on my end, but it literally takes no time at all to actually set up.Overall the printer was a 5 out of 5 - Very easy to use, very clean & easy instructions make setting up the printer idiot proof.Was easily able to design and print my cards via the Bronze software package. I think they undersell the software - very easy to use and it does everything I was looking to do. I can easily create my own cards, however I want to, whether using their out-of-the-box templates or creating the cards from scratch. Really happy with the overall ease of use.Only reason it was not a 5 out of 5 - I did need to contact customer support about some of the out-of-the-box printing quality. For some reason my cards were not printing as dark as the quality assurance card that comes with the box. Honestly grateful they provided that card because I would have been a little disappointed otherwise. I think there might be some tweaks on the software side they need to make to improve this (I'm sure they will figure it out in no time). In the meantime, I reached out to technical support and WITHIN MINUTES they were back to me and incredibly warm and polite. Figured out a way to make the images sharper and I'm off to making optimized cards!To John who helped me navigate some of these slight challenges when first using the printer - YOU ARE AWESOME. Seriously, you got back to me so timely - from the second I initially passed over my inquiry to the time you got back to me - as we were figuring this thing out - I couldn’t believe it - the speed to getting back to my issues were out of this world. Then you walked me through each step patiently, though it took us a while to figure out best next steps you weren’t ready to give up. You ultimately figured it out and now my cards are optimized. Absolutely stunning.Did we have to use some cards in the process? Sure - did it take us some time to figure out? Sure. But the fact that you didn’t even bat an eye at next steps & just the overall experience I had - was by far one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had and you deserve applause. You taught me so much about the printer in the process, like I said, couldn't have had a better experience. I will be buying and servicing all of my card needs through you, wherever you go I’m there man.Thanks again for all of your help and I look forward to working with John and the folks at Magicard again very soon. Very, very pleased and happy to be a reference for them in your buying journey!
