I use this as leader
For a few years, I've used Seaguar branded 10lb flourocarbon leader. I recently picked up a roll of this line when I couldn't find dedicated leader. At the 10lb strength, I can detect no difference between this and the leader, as I've been using this as leader. It almost seems like it ties better than the leader. For now, I'm sticking with using this line as leader, since I get four times as much for about the same price.

Defective or just total junk???
Not sure what the deal is w/ this spool I just bought of 100 yard 10lb STS Trout/Steelhead line. But it's as brittle and breakable as a 90 year old hip.I'm trying to tie it up w/ some braided line as a leader and after every perfect uni-not I tie, all I have to do is apply just normal pressure to both main lines and this junk breaks immediately with hardly any pressure.I guess the braided line must be cutting through it, but that just total weak B.S. cuz I hardly even put much pressure on it and it immediately snaps. So I don't know if this is defective or what. But it will not "knot" to 20lb braided line without immediately breaking after testing the knot with just a simple light pull on both ends.

Random breaks, not knot related
I must have got a bad spool of Seguar because it would break at random spots with any fish over 2 lbs. My knots always held.

Tough and Better then InvisX for Leader
This summer I've gotten into the habit of using braided line with a fluorocarbon leader but I was still having an issue with the leader wearing out too quickly. I primarily drift bait in rivers looking for big browns so line gets beat up pretty easily on the rocks. Overall I'm happy with this line though there could be a few improvements like if it included a soft rubber-band like fly leader does (the plastic sheath leaves much to be desired) but performance wise it worked out great. The last leader I used was Seaguar's 8# InvisX and I did not notice a difference in the amount of fish I caught.

Good stuff
Many fishermen substitute regular fishing line for leader to save money. For most this is not a very good idea. This leader is much tougher. It works very well and I don't have to cut the end off very often. Trolling every day for a couple of months for trout I start off with about 15 feet. I have to cut off six inches every couple of days when I find a fray or nick. Thus, I only replace the leader once or twice a season.

Tough as woodpecker lips!
Freekin great tippet here especially for the price! Waaaay better than paying almost $20 for a 35yd spool at my local fly shop. $10 for 100yds is waaaay better and I haven’t broke many fish off since I made the switch from reg 5x tippet and this is more like 6x at 4lb test

Strong and invisible
Well, almost invisible. It's 12 pound, not 4. I fly fish and use this as my tippet. I primarily target bass and they aren't leader shy, so this line does great. I've landed 3 fish over 16 inches with this line as my tippet. Pulls snags out of leaves and small weeds on my 4 weight without snapping the line no problem. Easy to tie. It is my go to. I do notice more bites from pan fish when I step down to 4 pound test.

Good flourocarbon for fishing
This is a good option for flourocarbon. I have tried a number of seaguar products and for the value, this is a top option. I have been using it for a couple weeks with pretty good results. I will update my review after 6 months if anything changes.

The only one I use
As is said “ you’ve tried the rest now try the best “ I have used many brands of leader and this is the now the only one I use and it has never let me down.

Best leader for salmon
12lb is enough for almost all the salmon spiecies in BC, only fail if you fishing in water body with rocky bottom and snags or the fishing swim towards the rocky bank, never fail on me due to the heavy weight of fish like big male Chum

First time trying and buying Seaguar
Didn't give 5 stars because it'll be my first time trying it this season coming. Tied a few different knots with it( palomar, san diego jam knot, alberto, non slip loop knot)to test and seems quite strong. Can't wait to try it with salmon and trout in the spring

The best fluorocarbon
I have caught and landed fish up to 8lbs so far on this leader material. Awesome abrasion resistance, strength is just amazing. What more can I say, seaguar is the best fluorocarbon you can get.
