works well, can be modified for a richer darker "fuzz" tone
Sounds OK out of the box, but could be better considering the well known circuit it's based on. It's a little "tinny" and favours the higher pitch, but works well otherwise. Modified mine to resemble the original circuit, there are a couple of videos on Youtube to help if you want to do the same. Otherwise, good pedal, well built and sounds can be modified to your preference.

Its green and good
This thing is actually great for the price, im not a fan of the slim style pedals so this was ideal. Looks great on the board with a gnarly scorpion and illuminous green. I've used it on guitar and bass and it really does smooth out the tone. If your after a cheap compressor I would highly recommend it!

Really nice pedal for DI, but not as much into an amp
Really nice pedal for DI into a audio interface, sounds great to me. I only have two issues with it, one is that it gets quite noisy past 3 o clock position on the drive knob, and seems to pick up radio signals, but you really don't have to push it past 3 o clock. If you want more gain, you can use a boost, it doesn't boost the noise like the drive knob does. The only other issue is the built-in cab sim can't be turned off, so it's not great as an overdrive pedal, which is a shame, since I believe the pedal it's based on later added a cab sim toggle. If they ever make a V2 of this pedal series, they need to include that! It would make it even more versatile and much more usable with an amp. It would mean that you could use a vst IR plugin, or you could plug it into a cabinet, or the power amp section of an amp without having the cab sim clash with the real cab. It would increase the versatility by a lot. Also, Joyo, if you're reading this, is the pedal designed to be used as an overdrive, as well as a DI? Or only DI? Because on your UK website, it doesn't really mention that you can use it like a regular overdrive pedal into a real amp, it makes it seem like you should only use it as DI, but I believe the pedal that this is based on says that you can also use it as an overdrive, because the cab sim isn't too strong. But it doesn't say this on your site. Other than that, it's great for the price, and I'm probably going to buy the American Sound too!

Excellent Fenderish pedal
The Joyo American sound is an excellent Fenderish pedal. It appears to be a copy of the Tech 21 NYC Blonde, but as someone who has also owned that pedal, it's a little bit different. The voice control sweeps mid frequencies in conjunction with the gain control to allow a range of Fender Twin, Fender Deluxe, Fender Bassman, Fender Tweed tones, but it takes some time to work out how all the knobs interact to fine tune the sound. I use the pedal with an additional external IR into a PA, but it works well without an IR and sounds good enough for going direct. Much harder to run into a conventional guitar amp unless you can bypass the preamp, but still works that way as an overdrive pedal. It's not exactly the same as the superficially similar Caline American pedal and the Joyo has a battery compartment which can be useful. A remarkable pedal for the money and well built. Perhaps the best cheap guitar pedal on the market?

Excellent value
This EQ does exactly what it's intended for, and at a fraction of the cost of bigger brands. I've had no issues with unwanted noise. Shapes my tones as I wanted. I only purchased as a stop gap because I couldnt afford a 'better' option, now I'm not sure I need to bother.

"...give this sweet distortion and chime guitar tone.
This joyo acetone is one of my favourite pedals and might be my most favourite. Voice max and a little drive (7 to 8 o'clock) give this sweet distortion and chime guitar tone. The EQ controls are effective. Think there might be a little loss of bass tone cw the pedal off. I generally have this on unless I'm wanting a stripped back guitar tone but sometimes the sound then is okish and I think oh the acetone is not on and the time cumulative effect of the sound is not satisfying and then hitting the foot switch switching it on fixes that. I've thought of buying a second and running two together for expanding tonal possibilities. It's touch/picking dynamics sensitive. Could say more in its favour...

Good value for money item
Great sounds when you've worked out the settings - really like the "Plexi" sound. Easy to use and well built quality.

phaser set to stun
if you know what a phaser does, then skip this first bit, for newbies or gift buyers read on.... a phaser is an electric 'foot' operated pedal box that you plug a guitar or other instrument into then connect to an amplifier, when activated it takes the sound in and alters the phase of the sound depending on the setting resulting in a pleasant or not (opinions and players vary) distorted sound heavily used in the 60s - 80s. for the rest :- pedals like people are not all created equal and phasers are no diferent. i have tried phasers included on multi effect pedals, with wide varying results, but even the best multi effects only allow for 1 effect at a time. single effects range from nails on a blackboard to subtle but mortgage level master in a box. I needed a good phaser at cheap price, scoured the ads and settled on this, metal body, no battery, single knob what had I done ? WELL lets see, metal body, great, no horrific cracking if used with divers boots. No battery, double edge sword, theres the inconvenience of a mains connection , but theres no battery to die mid gig. Single knob, easy to set up, adjust, mark with a sharpie done, instand reset if its disturbed and none of that knobs for volume, gain, attack, decay, tea strength, beam up/down. one knob simples. Sound :- the level of the effect is done by turning the captain proteus 1940s - 60s sci fi style knob, which is just the right amount of sensetive. tones are right on spot. on/off stomp button is crisp. This isnt a £9.99 flimsy unit that hurts the ears, neither is it a £200 symphony in a box, its a cheapish effects pedal that does its job and does it well.

defective out of the box, plugged it in and the tuners didnt do anything and no LEDs lit up, all it did was add background clicking noise every second, couldnt even return it because amazon said i have to return it that very same day despite it being 8pm and every local post office is closed
