Advertised tape width is 2" but illustration shows it is 1.5" (38.1 mm). Which is correct?

I ordered 2" and got 2" - which is what I wanted. However, I believe there is also a 1.5" version, so beware when ordering. Brilliant stuff, but it is ludicrous that it's cheaper toget it fromAmerica than to buy it here!

Would this tape stick to a vinyl / plastic book cover please? Or is it just for paper?
