First retinol product - very happy
This is the first anti age product I buy for myself (I'm 26). I was super confused about retinol, retinoids, hyaluronic acid etc. and was doing my own research on pros, cons and what to start with. Then I came across someone's review on Amazon for this precise product, who also seemed to have started with this serum and seemed very satisfied, so I gave it a go. I had no redness nor peeling as the label warns you might experience. I use 5 drops in the evening before going to bed on my face (avoiding the soft skin under the eyes) and neck. Of course it's a little oily (duh it's a serum), but by the morning it's all been absorbed. Ok: effects. My skin feels amazing. Soft, dewy, clear... It looks *great*. And the two fine lines I had on my forehead which I was obsessing over have started to look much more fine and kind of 'blended in my forehead' (ok that sounds weird, but their appearance has much improved - aka I can't notice them as much as before). There's no getting rid of wrinkles you already have, that much I know, but this product is great for starting the lifelong battle with age, making you feel like 'yep I'm an adult now and dealing with it', and it works really really well at making my complexion look healthy, moist and firm. There's no good age to start using antiage products, but there definitely is in my experience a good product to start with :)

Definitely recommend
I love how moisturising this is and it doesn't have lots of ingredients and types of parfum that irritate my skin. I always repurchase this when I'm starting to run out, it works with all of my face creams.

Great product
A great product to get you started with retinol. I’d heard lots of good things about The Ordinary and I wasn’t disappointed. The product goes on nicely. The moisturising effect of squalane balances out the drying effect of retinol so I had no problems with dryness or redness. I use jojoba oil as my moisturiser so used this on top as normal, and also an SPF during the day. I definitely noticed my skin looked clearer and brighter after a few weeks of use, however I felt my skin could tolerate a bit more so I have recently started using the 0.5 version, which is incredible!

Very satisfied
I am 26 and this is my first Retinol product, it has 0.2% concentration, one of the lowest available. It is based in Squalane, which is a light non-comedogenic oil that prevents oxidation (retinol losing its effectiveness). Additionally it comes in a dark bottle which protects it from light. I use it once a week on completely dry skin after cleansing (using it on wet could cause irritation) and only at night, because it makes skin more sensitive to UV lights and is therefore not recommended in the mornings. I usually wait 5-7 mins before applying a moisturiser to let it absorb fully. I have noticed my skin feels drier and tighter (normal side effects). I will continue to use it and slowly increase the frequency for my skin to get used to it. So far I am satisfied with the product. UPDATE 28/11 I have now been using this for well over 6 months and whilst my skin was okay to start with, I have noticed some changes. My complexion is more dewy and I feel more comfortable without makeup. I have increased the frequency and I am now using this product 4-5 times a week. There was some redness at the beginning and my cheeks peeled slightly but apparently this is to be expected whilst the skin gets adjusted. I use about 1/3 of the dropper with each application and so far I have used about 3/4 of the bottle. Overall I am happy with this product and would recommend it.

I have just started to use. Still now I did not find visible differences. I don’t find any irritation or rashes. It’s effect still normal. Maybe I will notice changes after long term uses.
