Wow - What a machine!
This has been an absolute amazing buy for our conservatory with often suffered with high humidity and occasional mould on the pvc ceiling, more so as in winter months we usually dry washing in there. We made sure first to thoroughly bleach clean the areas of mould away, then popped the machine on.It comes with a decent length of cord, and good size water catcher. The machine can be moved freely between rooms with its robust integrated handle and is not too heavy, just remember to empty water first to keep it lighter.Free standing it sits happily in the corner of the room, and isn’t too noisy and happily goes about its business. When your selected humidity level is reached the machine will drop into stand by mode, then restart back up when humidity rises and just repeats the process until the water tank is full upon which you empty and repeat. The manual is clear and operation is via a touch button console and very easy to use.The amount of water it draws is amazing and needless to say the conservatory no longer has any damp areas or signs of returning mould. The laundry function is a godsend for those who don’t have the facility to dry outdoors or in a drier, this function not only keeps your humidity down to acceptable levels but also dries a good full wash in a matter of hours.Low running costs and a simple ‘plug and leave’ machine, save the 2 minutes it takes to empty (it’s a pull draw at the base of the unit… pull, empty and replace) we couldn’t recommend this enough. Our only minor and it’s minimal is sometimes it can emit a slightly pungent burning smell, this is normal and is part of the cycling process but this is an in-frequent occurrence and is referenced in the manual so don’t be alarmed it’s about to blow up!Easy instructions, good warranty included.

Very efficient - particularly in unheated house
Unfortunately my dad passed away last month and I couldn't believe how damp and mouldy his house became in just 1 month of not being lived in. There were a couple of major damp issues with the property with plaster bubbling off a wall at the front and a roof leak at the back. I chose dehumidifier because although expensive, this type of desiccant dehumidifier as they are supposed to be the best for unheated areas. I plugged it in on night and by morning the water container was already full - but what pleased me most was how much drier the bubbling plaster on the front wall felt. I also purchased a damp meter from Amazon, and the results showed that the wall was significantly drier.I now have a builder working at the property to try to resolve the cause of the water coming into the property. For the first few days I had the machine in the front of the house and had to empty it twice a day (so only negative comment would be that I wished the water container was a bit larger), but I've now positioned it next to the sink, and have the rubber tubing going into the sink so I can have it running continually without anyone having to empty it. One thing I would say is that to begin with I kept the tubing at full length and coiled it around in the sink, but I kept the plug in so I could see how much water was coming out, and not much did. So I cut the tubing to a shorter length so it didn't touch the base of the sink and the water seems to flow out much better. So although an expensive purchase - it's worked really well so far with visible results. I do have a couple of other brands of dehumidifier in my own house, but this one works much better. It does seem to produce some heat, and whichever room it's in gets a little warmer, but in a cold empty house that's a good thing.

Stopped working after 2 weeks
Brought this based on reviews and which recommendation. We have a small 2 bed flat that gets quite humid and mouldy in the winter, so bought this to reduce the moisture in the air. Worked great for about 2 days, then started to get C2 errors after 15-30mins if we ran it with fan speed 2 or 3. The unit was also really hot during these errors and we had to let it cool down before turning back on. It was being run in the center of a room, away from the walls. Worked fine if we kept it running on fan speed 1 which did an ok job at drawing in the water, but really needed it to be running on a higher setting. Every time we tried to turn it up to speed 2/3, C2 errors would come back again. Then after 2 weeks of owning the unit it stopped working all together. Wouldn't switch on at all! Spoke to Meaco who didn't seem to care and told us to talk to Amazon. Have now returned the unit for a refund. It was a great unit while it worked, but I expect it to keep working longer then 2 weeks...
