Well made and looks the part
Covers over the hitch fine but doesn't cover the ball, but they provide a plastic ball insert (should really be metal?), otherwise it looks to be a decent lock, well made and fits nicely. Good covering of paint should prevent corrosion.

Seriously robust physical and visual deterrent.
This is a seriously robust piece of kit. I saved a few £s by buying a "used - good condition" one. Its in first class condition so really pleased on that score. Very easy to fit (fitted in seconds) and it covers the hitch very well preventing lifting of the handle, punching out the lock roll pin or removing the bolts securing the coupling head. Heavy duty and a good visual and physical deterrent.

Strong Sturdy Lock let down by plastic ball insert (previously metal insert)
This lock is insurance approved as stated on the packaging.The materials used in this hitchlock are metallic and strong, bar the dummy ball insert, which is made of hard plastic. Previously this lock was supplied with a metal ball insert. The installation video shows a metal ball insert. The purpose of the ball insert is to stop the trailer being connected to a vehicle and it also holds the main body of the lock in position by holding the locking crossbolt behind the vertical part of the dummy ball insert . The fact the insert is plastic instead of a previously supplied metal insert, means 3 stars instead of 5 stars. Metal would be best option for dummy ball insert, sturdier, and greater peace of mind. L’appareil a l’air robuste Et fiable mais ne s adapte pas sur les remorques avec des bras d attache en V comme sur la mienne j’ai donc du le réexpédier.
