Got this when Philosophy quit making its Purity "foaming 3-in-1 cleansing gel for face and eyes" which I loved. I need something that rinses easily, quickly, and clean. I WANT my skin squeaky - what some people call "dry". If I want oil or moisturizer (plain hyaluronic acid diluted with an innocuous water-like substance is my favorite), I will apply it AFTERWARDS - just like I apply conditioner to my hair afterwards IF it needs it. I do not want it mixed in with the shampoo. So I look for as little oil and GLYCERIN as possible. Glycerin is inexpensive. It is not always, but usually made from petroleum in an energy intensive process. I scrutinize every product's ingredients and have noticed that generally,the less glycerin something has, the more it costs. Glycerin is touted all the time as a great moisturizer. Maybe. I believe it's ubiquitous because its a good, cheap carrier. But it clings like, s ..., uh, mucus. It does NOT wash off easily and it leaves my skin feeling a little gummy. With little oil, and glycerin being number six on the list, I was hoping the MANY other ingredients all would combine to dominate. They involve very little oil but a lot of skin care botanicals and some chemicals, plus two kinds of EDTA and other preservatives. Maybe they do, and it's only less rinseable than the 3-in-1 because its "soap" consists of coco (coconut I assume)-something sulfaine (a 12 syllable word) instead of a more traditional sulfate. It includes some lovely smelling plant products, which I prayed would overwhelm the spearmint that I don't like at all. I can't detect them. To me, it smells like licorice (also not a fave; its odor is similar to spearmint), and I thought so BEFORE I saw that the gel is dark - not carbon black, but dark brownish-black. So it's not just the power of suggestion. I've used a lot of Origin products and never found one I hated, including this one. It does a great job, leaving clean skin that isn't oily, sticky, or film covered. But I have to splash water onto my face many, many times while rubbing with my hands. I wouldn't mind nearly as much if I liked the scent.

The package changed but, its my understanding the ingredients remain the same... I've used this for more than 15 years. Something has changed? What? I broke out within 2 days of using the new package. I never had a problem with this product until I started using the new one. I am sorry I will not buy this one again

I usually love Origins products, but this one does not work for me. I swear I’ve gotten more blackheads since using it. It smells amazing and foams nicely, but not a good cleanser for me sadly.

I firstly bought this cleanser at Selfridges, London in 2017 and since then couldn't switch to other products. I traveled to many countries with it, no matter a humid island like Phuket or a super dry place Mongolia. It never disappointed me to bring the purifying result. As long as I open it. the smell could always bring me back to those places I visited. You should definitely try it out.
