These are the latest rage for travel, to compress your clothes to fit into a suitcase. It's a fantastic idea and works very well. The suction power was good but you had to work at it - takes a few tries to get it down. TWO of the bags failed during compression (they had a fatal flaw near the seam) so we threw them away, but that did not bother us as there are plenty of bags in different sizes in the box. In fact, we never used all of them, anyway. They are completely re-usable and great if you want to store clothing items on shelves in your closet and not take up more space (and keep them fresh). The downside of this theory of packing is that with larger suitcases you are tempted to pack more, which means, ultimately, more weight. It is easy to go over the standard 50lb weight limit when packing so much. These might be more suitable if you are using a carry on, in which case you will pack more into a smaller space, for sure.

I am a heavy packer when I travel. I prefer to bring my own pillow due to allergies, but obviously it's hard to pack a pillow in a suitcase. But if you use these bags, it's super easy! I like that no pump is required! Simply add your items to the bag and roll the bag from the top toward the bottom.., and the rolled bag expells trapped air & the bags compress! Amazed how nuch free space becomes available in your travel bag/suitcase! My first mistake was to lend out my bags ro friends & not getting them back!! STILL, THE BEST INVESTMENT EVER!!!!! Also great for closet/ home use!!!‘t need a vacuum to accomplish this!

I just used several of these compression bags on a domestic flight -- long weekend trip. They functioned really well. Just don't lose the clips that are needed to seal the bags tightly. ( I would store clips inside the bag when you take your clothes out.) Two observations: The plastic that the bags are made of is not particularly thick. Don't wear rings or other jewelry when rolling them up with your clothes inside, or you will puncture the bag from the get-go. You'll lose functionality. That said, unless you take really good care of these bags (say, on a trip that includes constant packing and re-packing), they probably won't last very long. The order included multiple bags, some of which seemed HUGE and not real practical for smaller suitcases, but I can use them for household seasonal storage of things, I guess. According to maker, the bags CAN be repaired if punctured, but not everyone carries tape with them when they travel, and I would think it would take too much time trying to track down where the puncture hole is. All in all, though, for the $ and the fact that NO vacuum is needed, this was a good value and they worked really well. It might be wise to find room in your luggage to take a few extra bags with you. The clips are one-size and can be used on any size bag in the assortment.
