I’ve been using the Hercules DJControl Inpulse 300 MK2 for several months now, and it has significantly enhanced my DJing experience. The Beatmatch Guide is an invaluable feature, offering LED indicators that assist in manually syncing tracks, which is perfect for those learning the art of beatmatching. The 5.5-inch touch-sensitive jog wheels have a smooth rotation and a larger detection zone, making scratching and cueing more precise and enjoyable. The 16 performance pads are responsive and versatile, allowing for hot cues, loops, and samples across various modes. Compatibility with both Serato DJ Lite and DJUCED software provides flexibility, and the inclusion of the Intelligent Music Assistant (IMA) in DJUCED offers helpful track suggestions based on key, tempo, and energy level, streamlining set preparation. I have been wanting to tryout one of the later type of DJ consoles for quite a few years now so when this came up I jumped at it. On opening, this looks very well made and have two decks along with what feels like an endless amount of buttons and sliders with flashing lights so it looked right up my alley being as I love anything with loads of buttons and flashing lights, lol. My initial problem was that when I read the instructions on the inside of the lid it only referenced Windows so I assumed that this would only work with windows. Thinking this I purchased a virtual machine program called Parallels and once running I installed Windows 11 after again purchasing a licence, all so that I could test this device out and have a good plat around. I soon realised when going to the websites to download the drivers and programs that this indeed works on a Mac so I could have saved myself a few quid, after looking at the box more stringently I noticed a small section of text on the side that says Windows and Mac support. Following a tantrum I decided that I might as well install this on Windows instead of the Mac OS since it was installed and ready to go. Following the instructions as can be seen in my photos, I started trying to use the machine which powers on using just the supplied USB cable when plugged into the computer. Unfortunately this isn't for beginners and requires a lot of reading and watching several videos just to get a basic grasp of how this all works. My main problem is that the last time I used a DJ deck was in the early '80s which was a twin deck for vinyl records and scratching was something that the cat did on the carpet, lol. I very soon realised that I had a very large learning curve on my hands to be able to use this with any real effect. That said, during the testing that I did manage to do, this machine works flawlessly and by using the samples in the two downloadable programs I did manage to create something reminiscent of a cat in pain, lol, this is due to my lack of knowledge and not this brilliant machine which does do exactly what it is supposed to. When looking through the two programs for samples and other files, I noticed that many of them required a subscription. There is a free trial for both but unless you want to pay for further access this will be short lived. I really hate subscriptions so they are not for me but I also noticed that I could add files and records from my own collection which would be for free, now that I do like, lol. I will be persevering with this and hopefully after a fair bit more time I will be able to do a lot more of what this unit is capable of. My lack of experience aside, this device is an amazing piece of engineering and is being sold at a very cost effective price. Recommended.

Great DJ controller with lots of features for the price. Works perfectly with Mixxx software too.

Very good quality DJ Controller made from hardened plastic it feels solid and is built to last. Very easy to install/setup I am using it on a iMac the setup is the same only difference is you will need to install the drivers on Windows, You will need to download and install two applications Serato DJ Lite and register for an account this is used for the actual DJ control deck and DJuced this teaches you how to use it. I would say I am a complete beginner I played around with some software back in the good old days Winamp and something else I can’t remember the name these gave very basic functionality compared to this. When you have this on your desk for the first time its feels like being on the bridge of the starship enterprise there are knobs and lights for what seems like everywhere but even after a few minutes of playing around with it and not doing the tutorials I was understanding what the buttons do and some of the functions on that old software was coming back to me. The fact that you can connect your headphones to this and also connect speakers to it is a big bonus I can’t be sure for Windows devices but I imagine it will be the same but I also had the option to use the iMac speakers. All the buttons/knobs are very responsive which is exactly what you need I love the two jog wheels which you can use for scratching if you’re into that or affecting the playback all nice touches. The tutorials are very good and I have learnt a lot from them and they are definitely worth watching if you are a complete beginner like myself. My only grumble is with the streaming services this all sounded great but you soon realise these are paid services which makes sense so this will be an extra cost if you want to use so keep this in mind. Also Serato DJ Lite software is a cut down version which when you are a beginner & learning I fell is more than enough but as you start progressing you may want the Pro version which is either a subscription of 9.99 USD a month or 246 USD to buy Overall this is perfect for beginners wanting to learn and I am extremely happy and would definitely recommend it.

If you are looking to try your hand at being a DJ, either for home use or more, these DJ Decks from Hercules are an outstanding start on this path. Packed with a multitude of features that you would expect on a set of decks, with built in tools to help you mix, and access to a DJ Academy using the DJUCED software. You really need to practice though as it isn't as easy as I thought :). Inside the box are the DJ Decks, a braided USB cable, a sticker sheet with 3 stickers on it and a technical information sheet. The decks are made from plastic, but you really cannot tell that, and I spent quite abit of time tapping them as I was convinced they were metal. They are reasonably lightweight at just under 2kg in weight so easy enough to carry around with you 9although you will need to take a laptop as well for the music). The deck interfaces are the USB input, a 3.5" headphone socket and a left and right speaker output (although you can use our laptop speakers as well, which is what I have been doing). Before you start on your journey you will need to head over to the Hercules website and instal the software, and drivers for your chosen machine. You can also install the DJUCED and Serato lite software from their relevant websites (and if my searches are correct, they are the only ones that work (well, the Serato pro will as well, but that's a paid app). Once installed, and you have music that you want to use, plug in the USB at which point the decks kick into life and go through a demo/self test of all the lights etc. You have a couple of options to get your music on the decks...you can drag and drop with your mouse onto the left or right channels, or use the browser wheel located on the top middle of the decks, and then pressing the load button on either the left or right channels respectively. This is a very comprehensive set of decks, with everything you would expect to find (jog wheels, cue pads, loop pads, cross faders, sync and cue buttons, plus a beat matching guide that helps you get the beats correct, with lights under the jog wheels showing you as too early or late, and a tempo bar showing whether you are too fast or slow along with an assistant button that suggests tracks based on what you are currently playing) but don't expect to just sit down (or stand up) and mix perfectly if you haven't done that before. That's however where the DJ Academy comes in, as you access this through the software and watch video tutorials from the Hercules in house DJ coach. I have added a quick video that was a quick (albeit very poor) attempt at mixing. I cannot rate this highly enough and I am sure that once I have practiced and practiced it will be far easier to match tracks, tempo's etc. The assistant is a wonderful idea, and one that will help push your mixing and mixes forward. To summarise, if you are looking to try your hand at DJ mixing, these decks from Hercules are a huge step into that arena, and with the assistant, DJUCED and Serato software capabilities you will be taking the party with you wherever you go. Now, i just need to go away and practice lots and lots. Highly recommended.

If, like myself you are new to mixing. It's complicated and didn't realise how limited you are with music, unless you spend more money on "monthly" music subscriptions. Functions are complicated and unless your tec savvy, it's not an easy set up. Be prepared to have a laptop that's compatible or it's useless.

As a musician, I had often wondered what it would be like to produce my own music based on my own sounds, and I had for a while now, been recording my acoustic guitar rifts to digital. I then recording my singing separately, but I didn't have a mixing solution and I was considering paying for it. When I saw this item I ordered it immediately. It took a little while to arrive, due to a shortage but I was pleased my order was not cancelled. I gleefully removed the deck from the box placing it on my l shape desk designed for extra curricular Pc activities such as this. I am still massively getting to grips with it as I have only had the item a few days so this review is from someone who has no experience using mixing decks and has just started using this device. The djing aspect is not the main reason for ordering this item, but I have tinkered with it and there are some excellent learning material here such as the DJ academy tutorials ad the intelligent music assistant. However, some of these are subscription based so chose wisely. So I have been really only focussed on using the STEMs system that allows me to mix my own music, and I have now produced my own music. I have done a standard version, my voice and my guitar, thats it. However, I have done a second version where I have added in more instruments beats etc, I had so much fun with it, it is simply just pure audible artistic creation. The device doesnt take up as much room as a full dj deck, and despite some people suggesting this device is for beginners, I have been blown away by it. Recommended.
