Anyone know country of Origin?

I bought two Yost Vises, 6" and 4" recently. 4" one had been packed in a box printed "Made in Taiwan", though 6" stated nothing about origin on the box. Taiwan is much much better than China and their products are not that cheaply made.Both vises are in very good quality and I am very satisfied with. Replaceable jaw is made of heat treated hardened steel which is not found on cheap vises today. I believe 6" vise is made in USA. If it is not, it's still in good quality.

Is this vise made in the USA ?

No. 'Made in Taiwan' was printed on the box my vise was delivered in. I had the impression it was American made but that claim was not specifically made for this item. Apparently, only the ductile iron, massive, and very expensive vises are made in the USA. I believe this mistaken impression is subtly encouraged by Yost. That said, I am quite content with equipment manufactured in Taiwan, Japan, and Europe. 'Made in the USA' just doesn't mean that much anymore. I have only just mounted the vise so it is too early to speak to its quality beyond stating that it appears to be well made and finished and functions well. I am content with the purchase.

Are the dimensions really 20 x 10 x 8.5? what are the actual dimensions ?

It would be very nice out of common courtesy, as well as expected good business practice, if the SELLER(s) and/or AMAZON would make it a requirement to make dimension listing a MANDATORY item of information along with the price.

What is the center to center distance on the mounting holes? I have 7" centers on bench and do not want more holes.

The holes are about 5 7/8 center to center. You could patch the old holes with a dowel but I am with you I don't like too many holes either.
