RM Series Replacement Remote Control for Iomega SCREENPLAY-DX

The remote came within a week of ordering it, without instructions or batteries, in bubble wrap inside a Jiffy bag.I fitted two AAA batteries - and it worked perfectly. It feels reasonably robust and will no doubt last much longer than the original.The generic illustration is largely accurate, but some keys have additional screen-printing above them (for things like "www") which makes it more tailored as a replacement for the Screenplay DX remote.I didn't investigate the Star-key issue which others have referred to, but that key still works on my original remote - and can be worked around by connecting to a computer anyway - so it's not the end of the world.There are no doubt other keys which are missing too - but in terms of getting your media server back up and running with the common functions required for media navigation / playback - the remote is just fine.

This works.We got the Screenplay DX in 2011 and the original remote (the little square one with all the letter keys) never worked properly. Eventually it stopped working altogether.I contacted Iomega and they said the product was discontinued and no longer supported.This remote does the job. I don't know what all the buttons are for, but so long as you have the play/pause etc, and the up/down, and the volume, you can do anything. You can bring the letters up on the screen.I nearly gave this 5 stars but it's getting 4 because there was no manual or documentation enclosed. Basically it was just the remote, wrapped in a small piece of bubble-wrap and stuck in an envelope. Now as it happens I never read the manual anyway but I was surprised not to get one.I can recommend this to other people with the same problem as us.

Works well as a replacement but is missing the star button from the top right of the square original remote. This means you cannot use the file manager function of the Iomega and have to delete by hooking up to a computer. other than that, i was pleased with the quality and it worked straight out of the boxUpdating my review as the missing "star" button is actually available via the Settint button which is the top right of the central 4 grey buttons. It performs the same function as the star button

My original remote stopped working, so had no control. started looking for a new omega screenplay, but are no longer available. So came accross this remote and it works well. Quick delivery great thanks

Remotes all look the same from this range but are specific to each box and will not work across the range as I found out as I now have a 2 remotes that don't work on my media players.. With shipping costing more than the item I won't be using them again. Will source new ones elsewhere. Responses to my queries were swift but not helpful.

It is a direct replacement for the iomega remote and works as well as the original with one exception: I cannot find a key which equates to the STAR key which is necessary for file copying. To confirm a file copy I still need to use the original control. Excluding this problem I prefer the replacement since the keys are larger and more logically laid out.

Much better than the original which is fiddly and unresponsive. The * button is not on it but I always did those changes on my PC so I don't miss it. It also arrived when it was supposed to...all in all...great

This has worked great for my replacement on the media drive from iomega. It is easier to use then the original.
