I started cutting my own hair during the pandemic... Finally decided to get an actual pair of hair cutting scissors. I have had these for a year now, and use them about every month. I am so happy with this purchase! The scissors are sharp, effective, not painful on the fingers, and have held up well. I love having the thinning shears as well to help with shaping.

Since COVID hit, my wife and I have been cutting each other's hair rather than going to a stylist. This practice started when our stylist refused to wear a mask during the early phase of COVID-19. We didn't feel comfortable having her in that close proximity to our face and her being unwilling to wear a mask.So - we got clippers, scissors and ultimately these thinning shears and started cutting hair for each other. It has resulted in quite a savings over the past four years plus we can easily schedule our cuttings to meet our schedule and never have to leave home.These thinning shears work well - I tend to have a bit of a "cowlick" with some stubborn hair, and this things the hair out to the point it can properly be combed and hold. I strongly recommend using YouTube to find out the proper way to use thinning shears properly, otherwise you can cause more damage than good.These shears have worked very well - they're not that expensive, but serve the purpose well.

thinners aren’t the best but the straights were quite sharp out of the box.i use these to cut my own hair and to practice shear handling for my dog grooming job (they have been dropped a few times and still work pretty good)i recommend for a non professional any day, however for practice shears eh, they are okay.quite affordable though! and i use the case they came with all the time

I bought this because the reviews were pretty good, and people said it was good for lefties. But they aren't that sharp and would mostly just fold my hair instead of cutting it. And they're pretty uncomfortable to hold in my left hand. Might be okay for righties. They're not bad considering the price, but I would invest in something better if you're planning on using them for a while.

Nice, cheap shears set for at-home trimming/haircuts. These are a good budget-friendly option especially for someone like me who was just an amateur trying to save costs on my partner’s hair cuts. Every time he went to a salon neither one of us really like the way his hair came out because it was different every time and often shorter than he wanted/liked. Because of this I was looking for the cheapest decent quality shear set I could get my hands on just to see if it was viable to cut his hair myself. The first time went great and these shears helped a ton, the adjustable tightening screw is great for keeping them in the right contact if they loosen while cutting or anything. I was nervous especially about the thinning shears that they wouldn’t be flush and would rip/pull hair which my partner was especially worried about put these did a great job on thick medium wave hair texture. Never got hair stuck anywhere, stopped cutting, or pulled hair rather than cut it. They were also super comfortable to hold, even at awkward angles, though I do have very small hands. The case and comb are a great addition for a nice, little complete set!Very happy overall with their performance!
