Worked right out of the box Set up in about 10 minsMy Sony TV has a pvr built-in but will only record one channel at a time.And you can't turn the TV over to another channel while it is recording.With the Humax you can record four different programmes.And still watch something else at the same time.As I have owned the Humax T2 fox pvr in the past I know it's going to be well madeEasy to use with good picture qualityAnd definitely well madeSo I didn't buy brand new I purchased usedBar a few age related marks which was hardly noticeableI think it's great And a bargain It came through the post signed for with in a couple daysWell worth the wait 😄😄Hdmi cable power supply and Remote supplied

Generally very pleased with this unit. Has a good range of features compared to other available TV boxes. Ability to record 4 channels at once is great, especially at Christmas time. Shortcut buttons on the remote are useful and unlike others I have not experienced any problems with tuning or battery life. Browser and menus takes a little but of time to get used to but I'm sure that is just a familiarity thing and I will be fine after a few weeks.Great that you can set programmes to record from the phone app and really impressed that I can watch live TV or programmes I have recorded on my phone if my partner is watching something in the living room. This took a little bit of time to set up but well worth it.The only criticism is the slightly 'sluggish' response from the box when navigating menus etc. This however is something that I have come to terms with as I have had equally 'clunky' performance from BT and Talktalk youview tv boxes in the last 5 years. I understand the Sky equipment is better but personally I am not prepared to go down that road.This has the advantages and more of the BT and Talktalk packages but with no monthly payment (just the upfront purchase price). Obviously there's no one to complain to if it fails so I took the offered insurance that came with it.

Bought this to replace a HDR 2000T. ( works fine and gave it to a friend to replace an expensive Sky set up)This allows you to record 4 programmes simultaneously and watch another, which is great but makes me wonder if my chosen hard drive size of 500 GB will be large enough especially as most programmes that I record are in HD and therefore uses more memory than standard format.You can also freeze live TV whilst you stop to make tea etc, which will also then enable you to skip ads when paused for long enough.I do find the remote a bit clunky the way it clicks when pressed as other reviewersstate, but I think this is OK and you get used to it. I Am used to it too with my previous Humax anyway.I like the little reminders on screen when it's about to record.The on demand and freeview play modes are quite slow loading but again this is bearable.One feature I love is the TV guide app, I got caught out when at a wedding recently and realised I had forgotten to record England & Scotland rugby.... The TV guide app on my phone resolved this! Excellent.All in all this is great. If you think about it.... You do get alot for your money compared to a Sky subscription. There are over 100 channels that are free to view on digital TV anyway plus this also has catch up TV for BBC, ITV and ch4 etc.You cannot go wrong buying this item in my opinion. It is easy to install and to navigate the different menus and brings to life freeview tv ( and more)Highly recommended item especially if you like your terrestial ( free) TV......

I bought this to replace a Virgin TiVo box due to an increase in monthly subscription. It took a little while to work out how to connect the box, but I got there eventually. I wasn’t sure if I had been sent the right box as the remote and guides were for satellite, when I had ordered for an aerial connection. I contacted the seller who was apologetic and helpful. I received a new remote and a link to the correct Freeview guide very quickly. It’s easy to use once set up and I have had no issues with recording programmes. The tv guide is a bit clunky and it is a shame that there is no access to ITVX, but I was aware of this when I purchased it. Been able to link to my Netflix and YouTube accounts. Very happy with my purchase.

This was bought to replace a Humax Youview PVR which has worked perfectly for many years until the corporate greeds at Youview turned off the remote record via a mobile app feature. Since no way am I going to look at another Youview product again, I thought this would meet my needs. Sadly the people that did the web site and marketing for this product did not work on the product. The interface is very old looking now, desperately needs a software update similar to what the Youview box had, but it works and three tuners is a good feature. The mobile apps for this product are just terrible, the worst apps I have seen for any product. Did the Humax bosses son develop the code and no one dare say it was rubbish? The mobile Guide is just the most unintuitive piece of code I have ever seen, I work in IT and have seen some bad code in my 40 odd years, but this is the worst.If you have used Sky or BT TV with their remote record features etc. Then forget this box, the Humax apps are terrible. Many can't get it to work at all, but they just have not read the manual and understood the product, it does work and do all the features they quote, but it is just horrible to use to to the extremely poor mobile apps. Something that should not be the case these days as there are plenty of good examples to copy from.I sent it back as we found that 4OD and My5 players did not work, checked for software update none. This product clearly needs a software refresh and until it gets one, don't buy unless you want minimal features.
