This is a great unit. But the original is my preference . Dont buy into the distance hypes on any shortwave radio . Very subjective to terrains and building environments . Also often the claims involve connecting to a repeater. This is a great package buy though. Especially being able to chirp your unit from a phone Be sure to thoroughly check packaging some items hide . The tali ran us in circles usingBaefong’s. You might need this to do the same to uncle. Soon ,wish i could lol that last

We’re still learning about this little ham and how to operate it. It has many features that we’re in the process of discovering. It’s working very well. The Bluetooth feature that you use with your phone to program it works well.

Nice price

I returned this radio package seemed like it had been opened before not everything within was in an individual plastic wrap. Item box had no tape holding lid shut. Small hole in box. Reason for return was Software would not run to program, tried many times. Blue tooth would not recognize my laptop and or my phone no other way to download program to operate radio to identify channels. Not necessarily a brand issue probably a seller issue.

They seem like nice radio, It was a really nice kit, lots of items. It was listed on ad as 8w, their website, the instruction book even state they are 5 watt and my meter showed them at 5.1 and 4.5 on high on the testing uhf and vhf.If these were sold as 5w radios they would have been great...was getting 5.1 3.2 and 1.1...a tip over the lineI may have well just saved a few bucks and bought the 5 watt rated version....I paid more for the 8w which I didn't get. Not sure if I want to try the baofeng again because of the false claim on the power...I had high hoped because I have read and heard many good things about this company.

This is advertised as “high Power” it is NOT. I have Two other REAL hp’s.The bluetooth programmer will not connect to iphone IOS 16 so dont waste your time thinking thats gonna workNot as advertised

I was surprised my radio had 28 random memory locations stored in it from a previous owner yet was sold as a new unit.

Great value for everything you get. I didn't give 5 stars because the batteries aren't the larger extended ones I was expecting, besides that it's great. Buy a set or two today!
