simple but effective- clever/brilliant
These look so simple, as indeed they are. But they work. I had bought yet another collapsing rubbish loo seat, had it only a week before it broke, no packaging to return it. (all Homebase loo seats are all rubbish, i have found through experience) I decided these rubber shapes might make all the difference, once I had replaced the screws that had fallen out of the metal seat opening fittings, I super glued larger ones in- the wood is like balsa! (every time I opened the seat-sawdust would appear from round the screws!!) Anyway, all glued, I reassembled it on the loo itself using these simple rubber shapes- they come with good fitting instructions with useful handy hints Brilliant, I no longer have the seat shift under me. I expect the seat will break again but in future I shall ALWAYS use these on any new seat- THEY ARE BRILLIANT.

Bruised but undefeated - these little babies really work!
I ordered these conical rubber fixings from TFM Services to go with replacement hinges from Really-Useful-Stuff and make the job easier. I was not disappointed. They really do make the job of getting the seat fixed on straight and secure very straightforward. Do take his advice and buy hinges with metal wing nuts. Plastic nuts are really painful to fit and often break. Metal nuts spin on easily and are able to take the strain of being done up tight. A tip - if like me you can only get one hand in behind the toilet, stick a small lump of blu-tak onto the metal washer to hold the washer and rubber cone in place on the threaded rod while you fit the wing nut. Easy. Once the seat is on, take an hour off with a cup tea and a biscuuit (you earned it!) and then re-check the wing nuts for tightness before you re-assemble the dismantled bathroom around your restored toilet. Prepare properly as he advises in the leaflet that comes with the fixings and you will (as he promises) get it right first time. I was surprised and pleased.

Found after pulling my hair out at the loose toilet seat!
I was going mad with my toilet seat which would not sit still, so I found these and ordered without thinking, they really are a great little product, simple, but effective. They somehow stop the toilet seat from moving about, and in all fairness they did a good job at it, but in the end I decided to buy a new seat, which I could use them with, but didn't in the end due to it being a higher quality seat than before, so I still have them just in case, great product, thanks!

Not bad but could be better
Seems to work to some extent, since they are rubber there is still some lateral movement in the seat, would have thought they'd be better if they were a more sturdy plastic that would hold the seat firm but for the price they are certainly better than what the manufacturers supply as standard.

Perfect
Perfect. This product solved my wobbly toilet seat perfectly . Easy to fit and a cheap solution to the annoying issue. The product came promptly and without hassle. This is a good item that is simple, easy to fit and ensures a firm, safe and reliable answer to an item in the house that is well used and needed without question. I fitted it by hand with the intention of asking my husband to tighten it but his expertise wasn't needed as it has remained firm and stable. Thank you .

Seat still moves.
It didn't come as shown in the image. Rather the four rubber cones were packed in a plastic sealed package with printed instructions. We tightend up the seat mounting as much as possible and found that the toilet seat still moves, whenever someone sits on it. So really a complete waste of money. 🫤

Finally fixed loose seat
As previous reviews I had to widen the hole with drill , but solved my problem completely. Ithink all new toilet seats should come with these conical washers as standard .Excellent product that did the job co

Simple solution to an annoying problem
These are such a simple idea, yet they do manage to achieve what they intend to - i.e. A rock solid toilet seat. The hardest part was to ensure that the bolts from the seat were actually centred in the bowl holes - the grommets went on straight over the bolts and the wing nuts (nylon) tightened up. I found that it paid to tighten up the nuts as far as you can do, wait a few minutes, then tighten again# repeat until you really can't tighten up the wing nuts any more. If the fittings I ahead had been nylon bolts and nuts, then I would have bought the similar kit on here that includes metal fixings. As for the reviewer that said these were overpriced and only worth 20p at the local hardware store - he's lucky to have a local hardware store to go to! For those of us that have to drive to get anything (with no guarantee that what you want is in stock either) then they are a godsend and not overpriced at all. Personally I think these should be provided by all seat manufacturers, but until that day arrives, these are perfect for the job.
