These strings are great for that metallic slap sound by the likes of Louis Johnson, Mark king etc

These might not be heavy/loud enough if youre a Lemmy/Metal merchant - heavy strings do SOUND that bit heavier - however they make your bass 'faster' REAL effortless to playThis is abs GREAT if you're trying to get your fingers to do new things, or if you find practising 'double thumb' uncomfortable!Though they work for me, If you have a low action, Fret Buzz could be an issue(thinner strings = less tension = fretboard will flatten out a bit, unless you mess with Truss Rod!)Again these could be great for learners, like a guitarist who's learned the error of their ways and is converting to BASS !

I purchased these on the back of the reviews I read and specifically their suitability for slap, which I had been struggling with on my old heavier bass strings. They are definitely good for that purpose, although I have certainly lost that thick deeper sound as a consequence. I also need to adjust the action because I'm getting more fret buzz, but that's not the fault of the strings.

I play in a disco-funk-soul band and these strings are fantastic.I had my bass professionally set up to accommodate these strings so the action is low and easy to play.I cannot agree with the other reviews that say these strings hurt your fingers (really??? Deary me) or that they go out of tune easily (not for me..2 x 1 hour sets on stage) or need to be replaced regularly. If you have your bass properly set up to use these light gauge strings, you will have no issues.

Brilliant

Much lighter gauge than any other bass strings I've tried before. Very bright and resonant with an impressive tonal range Bought for a student with a disability meaning they can't fret with a great deal of force and they are ideal. (May need a small setup adjustment to deal with any fret buzz) but I'm very impressed.

ProsVery light, possibly the lightest.Nice sharp bright tone.Minimal effort to put the string to the fret.Can play faster for longer due to this.ConsSteel strings feel terrible on the fingers imo.Prone to fret buzz, especially if your bass is set up for thicker gauges. Get ready to higher your action.Tune your bass one day then two days later you may have to tune it again.Overall they're ok, I would recommend extra slinky though. They have more of a punch than these.
