Grommets
I installed this on my '93 318iS and it makes the car look so much better. It is oone of the simplest things you can do to make your car look better. My old emblem looked awful, and other than the sound system it was the first thing i fixed about the car. It fits pperfectly, with a little bit oof work. If you are ordering this for a BMW 10+ years old, then i recommend purchasing the ribber gromets, as i had to use a drill to remove the old plastic/glue inside of the old grommets. For clarification, this is not metal, it is plastic. That does not mean it is low quality, it looks better than some of the metal ones do. If you have an older BMW with a fading emblem, buy this one instead of the $10 one that falls off in a week.

Fits my 2009 550i perfectly
It fit my 2009 550i perfectly. It took me a while to figure out how to get the old one off. After taking all the liners of the trunk lid I learned all I needed to do was pry the old one off. This unit fit perfectly into the retaining clips.

Appears to be genuine
I almost ordered one from a much lower priced seller and luckily I first saw the reviews which said it was clearly a cheap imitation.I can't say with certainty that this one is the real deal, but it looks similar to the one that came with the car, and it definitely isn't cheap looking. It was really easy to install. I saw a video on YouTube that showed a guy changing one. You pry the old one off with a screwdriver (put a plastic barrier such as an old credit card under the screwdriver to protect the hood) and then you just press fit the new one on.This unit doesn't come with the plastic grommets that it pressure fits into. In my case the old grommets worked fine, but if you live in Arizona or someplace really hot, you might want to pull the old one off and see if you need to order a set of grommets if the old ones are dried out and cracked.

If keeping and you don't want to replace it in a year buy the better quality
The cheap ones are exactly that, cheap. I tried a couple of them. They fade out rather quickly. If you are looking to sell your car and jip someone, buy the cheap ones. If keeping and you don't want to replace it in a year buy the better quality ones

Quality OEM Replacement
Looks just like the original, and is relatively easy to install. But be advised; DIY folks, this comes with no installation instructions. There are several great web-based (YouTube) videos showing how to replace the emblem. Installation is relatively simple, but does require understanding the right way to perform it, to avoid breaking the fragile teeth that attach the roundel to the vehicle hood.

Looks OEM To Me!
The blue paint started to chip off my emblem during the summer and went to BMW to get a replacement... $185!!! No f-ing way!!!I tried to paint it but looked like junk. I ordered one off a website but it was very think and looked like crap, so I tried this. Great purchase and looks as original as you can get... now if I could only make the paint look this good to match

Not great finish, but ok for the price....
For $6 and change, this cannot be an OEM part. Arriving in a generic brown envelope from China supports that conclusion. Why do they even bother to place a sticker on the little plain white box it comes in that says BMW original part? That said, it is nothing more than a decorative piece of plastic, so $6 is about all I would pay for it, not $40 that the BMW dealership wants. The finish is not all that great though but you would have to examine it very closely to know. waiting to see how it holds up in the Texas sun.
