This Bandai SD Gundam EX-Standard Aerial kit is a great little Gunpla if you want something quick to build and display. The pieces snap together cleanly with no glue or paint needed, and the Aerial figure has a charming super-deformed style with its beam rifle, beam saber and shield included. It’s small (about 8 cm tall) and straightforward even if you’re newer to Gunpla. The articulation is decent for an SD kit, letting you pose it with its weapons on display. A downside is that you’ll rely on stickers for a lot of colour details, which can be fiddly and less satisfying than paint or foil markings on more premium kits. Some parts can feel a bit plain or hollow from the back, but once complete it looks great on a shelf and feels solid enough for casual handling. Good value for the price if you want a cute, casual build and a small but recognisable Gundam from The Witch from Mercury.

Purchaed this as a gift for my co-worker’s son who is diagnosed with ADHD, but loves to build Lego sets and enjoys watching anime. He’s 10 years old, and he loved it! His mother was near tears when she saw how focused and determined her son was to finish building this figurine. It took him 45 minutes without any help from his parents. The end result is exactly as advertised, and would highly recommend as a starter to gundam figurine building.
