Good value in an aquarium light.
This underwater lamp lights up my 5 gal. aquarium nicely. I like the timer feature on the lamp. It gives you the control of how long you want the light to stay on, then shuts off automatically.

Good bright light that's submersible.
I needed another light to increase light levels in my heavily planted tank. This a good bright light that has the benefit of covering the full spectrum, simulating natural light. I would give it five stars except that the controls for functions are a bit confusing and I've yet to figure out the timer function fully. Seeing as I own half a dozen other lights that have similar functionality, you wouldn't think that would be an issue, but whoever designed this light's switching mechanism was trying to be different from the other guys (I'm guessing) and strayed from the usual path when designing functions and their controls. It took me a couple of days just learning how to turn it off and on (you need to hold down the power switch, merely pushing the on/off button makes it do other things) like I say, I've yet to figure out exactly how this light works despite my continued efforts to operate it. The light itself is fantastic and is just what the doctor ordered. Too bad I am having trouble setting the timer and find myself having to manually turn it off and on. I suspect that with the timer it has a fifteen minute period where it goes.from exceptionally dim to full brightness and then the reversal when turning off again but I'm not certain. I don't have time to wait and see if it's going to turn itself once the time is activated (if that's what it actually is, it's not exactly marked either) and either I somehow lost the instruction manual while I stalling or never got one in the first place. I don't recall seeing one but I assumed I didn't need one to turn on a light so I didn't check thoroughly that morning. I also found it a bit pricey but no more that the competition. I've gotten them cheaper but it's right on par with a majority of the competition. Aquarium lights aren't really all that cheap. All in all,.I am happy with the purchase with the exception of it's confusing controls. The quality seems good and it perorms as advertised or at least would if i understood how it worked better. I'm no amature and if I can'tfigure it out I'm certain there's others who are even more confused, but have to admit that perhaps the failing is mine and mine alone. The light is good and bright and apparently has more functions than I can figure out how to use properly. It is submersible and comes with a long cord. It was super easy to install on the underside of my aquarium lid, four suction cups being two more than necessary and quite effective.

Two month update: Suction cups don't stay well. Otherwise, seems okay so far
I haven't had it fall down yet, but I do have to press the suction cups against the glass at least every few days when I notice them coming loose. I've triple checked to make sure the glass was clean, made sure there were absolutely no air bubbles inside the cups, cleaned the rubber itself, and pressed them to the surface well below the water line. Even so, it some how manages to pull air from the surrounding water within a few hours. The light itself seems to do what I intended: add more light for the submerged plants (so I'm not burning floaters and emmersed foliage) and gradually changes the brightness - ramping up around a certain time every morning and winding down after the set duration.

Love these lights
Great light, fits in my 29g betta tank. Plants are growing, everything looks vibrant, the price was right. I haven't had any issues with the suction cups holding, will update if they become an issue!
