Washing Machine Fabric Dye Pod for Clothes & Soft Furnishings, 350g – Deep Violet

I died two canvas Ikea chair covers purple with Ritt dye years ago. They had faded to an ugly grey purple. I wanted to re-dye them but dreaded the pot on stove, add salt, mess. Saw these pods online and wanted to try them. I used one pod per chair cover. I dyed each chair cover separately (in part bc I ordered one pod to try and only ordered another when it worked). I was afraid it wouldn't work because I have a front loader. But when you read the directions, these pods are from the UK and designed for front loaders. It was so easy. Just follow the directions and run an empty cycle after to make sure your washer is clean. Very happy with results.

Rich true color. Be sure to do 2 soap washes after dyeing and wash with “like” colors

Very disappointed that the dyeing process didn’t work at all despite following the instructions. Might try again without putting it through my washer to try and get it to actually stick. :-(

I bought two to dye some material I'm using to make a blanket. It did nothing to my material. I even popped the washing machine lid open to let it soak and help the color take. Over all a complete waste of money.

Easy to use but terrible results. Splotchy and streaked and left little blue dots in places. Just not worth it.

I have 2 very cute outfits a friend gave me but they were all white. I figured since they were all white I shouldn't have any issue with the color sticking, I was dead wrong. I did everything down to the T but when it was done I didn't get purple I got this weird burnt peachy color. I thought maybe I needed another one so like a fool I threw more money down the drain and got another. Same result but this time my washer had dark purple spots and so did the outfits. 2 cute outfits now trash because they went from white to burnt peach with random dark purple spots. I managed to get my washer cleaned but I would never use this again. This was the biggest waste of time and money.

Bara att stoppa in kapseln i tvättmaskinen. Blir snygg o täckande färg. Färgade 3 par capribyxor o 2 t-shirtar samtidigt o blev supernöjd med resultatet. Tvättade det jag färgat direkt efter färgningen i 40 grader o torkade sedan av gummidetaljerna vid luckan o körde en snabbtvätt utan någon tvätt i maskinen o sedan var maskinen fri från något som skulle kunna missfärga annan tvätt. Det ända som inte var så kul var att jag fick vänta på färgen skulle komma i 3 veckor, så man får räkna med lång leveranstid. Men eftersom färgningen blev så bra, så var det ändå i slutändan värt väntan.

Works well. Had a dressing gown/bathrobe that got ‘bleached’ by benzoyl peroxide and had made a purple colour pink on the colllar. This has even out the colour on the collar and spruced up the overall dressing gown. In structions were a bit unclear, says to place in front loader machine ‘unwrapped with the lid removed’. I didn’t want to put in the plastic wrapping, so I took it off and just placed the pot with the lid removed. The item needed a wash which was done in a normal load, then a wash with colour pod, another wash to clean any remaining colour. Then an empty load to wash the machine, I put in washing soda. So 4 washes in total. There was no smell and overall I was pleased with the coverage. I think a second dye would make it perfect but for me it’s not worth the cost. I would recommend.

Turned out great! Even color and the desired shade I wanted for two shirts using one Pod! I used one Pod for two long sleeves shirts, They are both mixed fabrics: - The deep purple shirt is 93% Viscose, 7% Elastane, this one was already purple in color but faded, hence it is now deep purple after dyed. - The lavender shade shirt is 95% cotton and 5% spandex, it was off white color pre dye and I am happy with the finished result. Tips for successful dye with this product : - wash garments/fabrics thoroughly pre dye, with no trace of dirt or washing detergent left, after wash only leave garments/fabrics damp enough but not soaking wet. - followed the exact instructions provided on the leaflet top of the Pod the next steps. - after dye, on the second step of washing garments/fabrics with detergent, it is useful to use couple of color catcher to absorb the excess dye on the machine and materials. - when run the machines on an empty cycle last as instructed, also put in color catcher sheets to absorb the dye left in the washing machine. This will prevent color from dying clothes when next use for normal wash.

Easy to use and good dye

The colour is GORGEOUS but it did not dye all the fabrics (all cotton) as one solid colour, there are now hints of random pink patches on some of my clothes too. And, it stains the washing machine. Not that I mind a purple washing machine, but it has taken quite a few washes later for my other clothes (not intended to by dyed) to stop picking up fragments of dye too.
