Worth every penny
First of all, let's talk about the design. This pressure cooker is made from high-quality stainless steel and has a modern, sleek look to it. It's not too heavy, which makes it easy to handle, and it has a good-sized capacity of 5 litres, making it perfect for cooking for a family or for meal prepping. Now, onto the performance. This pressure cooker is super easy to use and it's great for cooking all kinds of dishes, from stews and curries to soups and even desserts! It cooks food quickly and evenly, which is perfect for those busy weeknights when you don't have much time to spend in the kitchen. One of the things I love about this pressure cooker is that it has a number of safety features built in. It has a pressure release valve that helps to prevent over-pressurisation, as well as a locking lid that keeps everything secure while you're cooking. Cleaning the pressure cooker is also a breeze. The stainless steel is easy to wipe clean and the inner pot is removable and dishwasher safe, which is a huge bonus in my book! All in all, I would definitely recommend the Kuhn Rikon Pressure Cooker to anyone who's in the market for a high-quality, easy-to-use pressure cooker that cooks food quickly and evenly. It's well-designed, safe, and easy to clean, making it a great investment for any home cook.

Very happy with the pressure cooker

Solid, easy-to-clean
This is my first pressure cooker. My wife has always had them, but when I showed an interest in using hers, as a vegetarian, she banned me cooking meat in it. So, I looked to see what was available in a size that would suit just me for a single meal and this was the smallest I could find. Pressure cookers are the titans of cookware, and this small one is still a big pan compared to normal saucepans. As such it is big enough to make, say, a curry for four people. It is probably too small however to use pot-in-pot methods, when you say, put some rice and water inside a bowl in the cooker. It feels well made, is straightforward in how it works and is easy to clean, even when the pressure valve gets full of food that you shouldn't have tried cooking in there, or had overfilled it. The pan has allowed me to move confidently into the world of pressure cooking, and I use it regularly. It is especially good for things like curries or chillies that traditionally taste better the next day. Not so in the pressure cooker that makes the meat tender and intermingles the flavours in 20 minutes. It makes a creme brulee simply too. There are cheaper pots out there, but I see this as a once in a lifetime buy (spare parts are all available at a reasonable price on Amazon), so am happy to pay the £90 I did. I think if I were to get hooked on pressure cooking (unlikely), I'd probably need a larger one for some things, like cooking a whole chicken.

I Absolutely Love It
I must admit I ummed and arghed for a long time before taking the plunge and buying this pressure cooker. I've never used or owned one before. I contacted Kuhn Rikon customer services for advice between 2 different models and they were very helpful. I did look at a couple of other brands in stores, but just wasn't impressed with how they looked and felt - some of them looked quite complicated! I wish I had bought the Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker years ago. I love it - it is so easy to use and not at all scary. It looks really sleek and clean in design, and when under pressure there is hardly any steam loss, so no worries about windows steaming up! It is also really easy to clean. So far I've cooked potatoes and veggies, which only take about 8 mins, I've cooked a wonderful beef and onion pie filling and instead of about 2.5 hours it took about 20 mins once under pressure, and a couple of boiled gammon joints which again take about 20 mins. All have been so tasty!! I was surprised how quickly when taken off the heat it naturally reduces pressure - you only need a couple of minutes before you can open the lid. I just need to experiment a bit more with what I cook in it. A while after I had it, I also bought the 3 section basket for it too, which is fab also. If you've been umming and aarghing - go for it - I haven't regretted it at all - and I don't think you will either!

Excellent product
This is a quality bit of kit. People are afraid of pressure cookers due to copious stories from decades ago where the kitchen was blown up and granny was catapulted onto the roof!! Times have changed and it's a great way of cooking - quick and retaining all the taste and goodies. I do wish though that all these kitchen equipment companies would provide a decent recipe book with their products - they are charging lots of money for items and not bunging in a bit of PR material too. I can't see why they don't combine decent recipes in their instruction books and at least look as though they fully back the product. UPDATE - I've been using this since received and I can say that I am still really pleased with it. I would still highly recommend it. Now that we're into Autumn / Winter, it will really earn its money with casseroles, stews etc - meat comes out incredibly tender and the taste is all secured within. It seems expensive, but I've found it well worth every penny.

The gasket was already damaged
Beautiful product, looks very sharp and the delivery was decent. However one of the most imprtant pieces of this cooker, the gasket came damaged. When I opened the package the lid was mounted which surprised me, as I store all my pressure cookers lids upside down in order to not stress the gasket. And it was like this for a long time I bet, as the lid had a decent layer of dust on it. I already own two Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers and I have a good feeling how the lid should behave when it’s mounted. This one had a lot of give when the lid was on fully turned, not a tight fit at all. And when you just put the lid, if you gently push you should feel some bounce back, well this was dead, no resistance at all. For my safety I just had to spend more bucks buying another one, which is a no no for a brand new product.

Uso da moltissimi anni queste ottime pentole a pressione e me ne serviva una adatta all’induzione. Ottima come le vecchie adatte ai fornelli a gas.

High quality pressure cooker, although the price is a bit high, it’s worth the money. Quality and usability are top notch, easy to use, and food comes out quickly and full of flavour.
