My 100lb Bully had bilateral TPLO and was struggling with footing on my hardwood floor when she wandered off the carpet runner maze. I bought the grip stickers for the bottom of her feet but they irritated her pads. These are perfect and made a huge difference! She can get up and down easier if she lays on the hardwood floor, her feet don’t slide out, even when she is excited and wiggling around! She still has traction outside in the packed snow. When I bought them I thought they went on all the nails, but they only go on the middle two! Xl fits her perfectly. They have been on for 10 days and she hasn’t lost any, doesn’t seem bothered by them and they are holding up well. Highly recommended.

I barely ever write reviews, but I could not pass this one up. My dog who is now 13, suffers from terrible arthritis, and has re-torn her ACL, and also tore her other ACL and could barely walk. She’s an 80 pound pitbull and would slip all over the floor. I came across this product, and decided to give it a shot. THIS IS A LIFESAVER!! I’m about to purchase another box. It makes me so happy to see her be able to grip the floor again and gain back her confidence. They are easy to put on, hers lasted for a good month, and getting the remainder of glue off her nail was not hard. They give you everything you need, but I had my own electric nail trimmer that I used, and it worked great. So if you’re skeptical, I can only tell you that my experience, and her experience, was amazing! Thank you so much for this product, you gave me back my dog and probably gave her a couple of more years.

We have purchased three packages of nail tips over the past year or so. Applying them (once you get the right size) is fairly straightforward. And they certainly deliver their promises. Our 13-year-old dog has a much easier time navigating our slippery floors and stairs. My only reservation is their durability. More often than not, the tips stay in place provided enough glue is applied. But our dog walks on concrete outside; this sometimes wears the tips down. And after a while, they tend to get “glazed”, become slippery and lose their traction. But that didn’t stop me from just ordering another set because overall, they are saviours for our dog’s mobility and our peace of mind. A good product.

We have a 9-year old 120# Swissy. As he’s aged, he’s had increasing trouble with slipping on our hardwood floors. We’ve tried various traction socks, pads, and booties for dogs, but they either didn’t work, caused other issues (skin abrasions and sores), wore out quickly, or were a PITA during our rainy PNW winters. We’ve also tried the other brand of short tube-like toe tips. They worked OK, but they wore out quickly (4-5 days), didn’t stay on, and are even more expensive. We’re on our 2nd set of Dr. McHenry’s Dog Toe Treads. They last longer, are easier to attach properly, and stay on better than the tube-like toe tips. The included small container of Krazy glue is appreciated. Individual toe treads last between 1-3 weeks. Most importantly, they greatly increase our dog’s traction and confidence walking on our floors. I recommend using as little glue as necessary. I’ve had to resort to carefully trimming off Toe Treads with an X-Acto knife when I’ve used too much glue. (No fun with a less-than-cooperative 120# Swissy.) If you look at the reviews of all the various dog traction socks, booties, treads, etc. you’ll see that a large % of buyers are unhappy with the product for one reason or another. Small wonder. Designing and engineering a product that works for everything from Pomeranians to Mastiffs is hard, if not impossible. I can guarantee this: YMWV (Your Mileage WILL Vary). A product that is a decent compromise between effectiveness, cost, and durability for our dog may be yet one more frustrating failure for yours. Wish I could say otherwise. Dr. McHenry’s Dog Toe Treads work for our pup. They may work for yours.

I have been using these for about a month now and I cannot believe how well they work. My dog is 13 years old and was constantly slipping on our floor. She had to have a FHO on her back hip and this has caused her to have some weakness. This has significantly improved her quality of life and I am not exaggerating. She is not slipping at all anymore and is able to run through the house with no issues. I only put two on her middle two toes of her back feet. I cannot recommend this product enough. 10000/10.
