Great way to be in touch with your kid. I got this because to be less concerned about where my daughter is and in case I need to talk to her. It is “closed” to message and call only the people I added in the app. The notifications I get on my phone are very useful. I also have access to her location and even set a safety zone where I get notifications when she in or out of that zone. Everything is working smooth and for now I am very happy with my decision to buy one. Setting up is where I would say that I had somewhat of a set back because when I was doing the first configuration I put my phone number instead of the number that was created for the watch. You just have to be a little patient because it might take about 20 min for the text to come with the number you will get for the watch. Otherwise it was fairly simple to set up.

UPDATE-- I take back what I said about this watch. There are WAYYYY too many bugs to sort out. The first watch went through a period of 'No SIM' and bad functionality, which resulted in my getting another through warranty. Now the battery can't hold a charge and the tracking function works when it feels like working. Also, I send messages and my kid doesn't receive them, the school mode doesn't turn off when it's supposed to which means at times, the emergency button needs to be used to get in contact with me. It was nice while it lasted, but I'm tired of fighting. We had this not even two years. My kid is not ready for a traditional phone yet, so this is good in regards to learning more about responsibility. Pro: You can contact them. The watch and app are made so it is completely parent controlled. Con: The tracking works, but there are bugs to work out. Live tracking so far does not really work. I gave it a try as my kid rode home on the bus from school. It did not update.

I got this for my 6 year old to keep in touch when she was getting picked up from kindergarten by someone other than myself. The calls are reliable and the voice message feature is great for her since she can’t select the pre typed messages yet. I like that I can see where she is with the GPS feature and that I can see the calls she makes. The process to add someone as an approved contact has a multi step process, which I appreciate for safety! The battery life seems to last a decent amount of time; and she is happy that it comes in her favorite color pink! We opted for a monthly plan that worked for us, and I’m looking forward to using this throughout her elementary school years.

The description for this product says "The device can receive texts." This is NOT true - it can only receive messages sent via the Xplora application. Voice messages are similarly transmitted only via the app. Effectively, communication is only with Mom and Dad, except for live calls with approved numbers, which mysteriously don't connect about 90% of the time when they are outbound. ADDITIONALLY, for the little bit of communication that can happen, messages (again...these are via the app) are regularly delayed by 20-45 minutes. It is impossible to communicate in a reliably timely way. The minimum size of the "Safety Zones" is so big that the entire neighborhood is enveloped by them, making them virtually non-functional unless your kid's school and each of their friends is very far apart. The GPS tool frequently does not work. We finally figured out that a reboot of the watch tends to fix it, but there is no alert that the GPS is not working, so if your kid isn't with you when you discover it, you have no idea where they are at until your "message" to reboot the phone eventually gets to them. Complete waste of money.

This is such a genius idea!!! so safe and reliable!!! I love knowing our daughter can have a watch that won’t fall off that she can keep with her and reach out to us anytime with any emergency! This watch is fantastic. It has so many cool features to get your kids off the couch, and I have some fun. You can control who they call and who they connect to. It is fantastic. As a mom of 8 I honed think this is such a perfect idea. We tested it out a few times when she went on her field trip. She was able to text us and give us updates throughout the whole experience. She even took photos with her watch. This is a must have for any parent!!! Phones get lost you have to put them down they get in trouble they’re not allowed to have them. The teachers did not even mind her having this watch at all. They thought it was a great idea.

The device is comparable to similar kids watches on the market. We experienced issues with the GPS lagging and the wristband breaking but Xplora customer care was great in helping to resolve those issues. I highly recommend the switch to a more secure and comfortable stretchy fabric wristband.

Overall the execution is very respectable. But do not think that the watch is going to function natively like a phone. You cannot type and send an SMS message from the watch to an approved phone number. Instead, you can send a voice message or a predefined short text (not SMS!) message to an app installed on a guardian's phone. See the difference with actual SMS messaging? I could not successfully make a call from watch to the phone ("Call failed"), so cannot judge its voice call capability. So, to me, the product is just one step, although a big one, away from being a home run. So sad.

I got it for my 5yr old. She loves it. She can call her grandparents anytime. She uses the alarms to stay on schedule. The tracking/gps feature gives us peace of mind know exactly where she is. If she has an emergency she can easily contact 911. The phone plans are affordable and the watch has a great battery life. The only draw back is texting is limited and the receiver has the have the app. Also, School mode block all calls and text instead of just being on silent. I still am very happy with my purchase and would recommend.

Die Xplora X6 Play ist eine gut durchdachte Kinderuhr mit stabiler Verarbeitung und einfacher Bedienung. Telefonie, GPS-Ortung und Sicherheitsfunktionen funktionieren zuverlässig, und die App für Eltern ist übersichtlich. Besonders praktisch sind der Schulmodus und die Schrittzähler-Funktion. Die Akkulaufzeit könnte etwas besser sein, insgesamt bietet die Uhr aber ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und sorgt für Sicherheit und Spaß im Alltag der Kinder. Wichtig wäre, das richtige Netz aus zu suchen um überall Netzabdeckung zu haben.

Ich hätte micht damit gerechnet, aber wir sind begeistert. Die Lieferung ging sehr schnell. Abends bestellt, am nächsten Tag schon da. Auch die Uhr ist wirklich top. Ich hatte bedenken aufgrund der Größe, aber meinem Sohn gefällt es und gerade durch die Größe ist die Handhabung bzw.Bedienung super einfach. Der Akku hielt zuerst nur einen Tag, lag aber daran, dass unser Sohn die ganze Zeit damit zu gange war und ich stündlich angerufen wurde. Auch die Installierung mit der App und Verbindung zur Uhr so wie die Einstellungen für mich als Elternteil war fast selbsterklärend. Das einzige was wir noch als I-Tüpfelchen verbessern würden ist, dass er mir elbst geschrieben Nachrichten schicken könnte. Aber durch die Sprachnachrichten ist sowas dann dennoch top machbar um sich zu verständigen. Klare Kaufempfehlung!!

Ho aspettato un po' prima di scrivere una recensione , lo sto provando da un paio di mesi , devo dire che è un ottimo compromesso tra dare un telefonino ed avere un telefonino per la mia bimba di 10 anni, lo utilizza giornalmente, quando ha necessità può chiamare, inviare messaggi, e cosa fondamentale con il GPS integrato , tramite la sua applicazione possiamo sapere dove si trova e tutto quello che fa.. è un buon strumento di controllo e sicurezza. Di buono è che può fare solo telefonate con i numeri memorizzati e se uno sconosciuto chiama, il messaggio arriva al genitore e non all'orologio , da migliorare sui messaggi si possono fare solo vocali e mandare scritti pre impoststi, emoticon, foto , non si può scrivere un testo , ma per il resto va benissimo. Conclusione voto cinque stelle.

Bought x5 when my kid 9, this second one. This does what i need for basic. Call, text and see location of kid. Few things i wish they could have, 1- kids can control on and off of alarm themself.,right now only parent can do it on app, so every time my kids want it off for pa day, late school day, he has come to me 2- i wish this watch can have option for adding calender event, allow parent add all kid activities, after school classes, so kid can start practice time management Btw, most of ppl may want to know. Prepaid card works. I use freedom 1yr prepaid card. $100 50G/yr

Wir sind so enttäuscht und richtig sauer! Wir haben uns für die Uhr entschieden, weil sie von Stiftung Warentest gut bewertet wurde, allerdings bringt diese Uhr im Alltag mehr Probleme mit sich, als dass sie ihre Aufgabe erfüllt! Auch jetzt, nach dem neuesten Update, funktioniert sie wieder nicht zuverlässig... Regelmäßige Probleme: - Kind kann nicht anrufen/angerufen werden - Kind (Uhr) kann nicht geortet werden - Nachrichten (auch das Verlassen der Sicherheitszone bzw. Ankommen in der Sicherheitszone) kommen verzögert an (oder gar nicht) - Uhr aus-/einschalten über die App (als Admin) funktioniert nicht Und der Kundendienst rührt sich übrigens nicht (zumindest, wenn man in der App eine Anfrage einreicht; eine andere Kontaktmöglichkeit ist mir nicht bekannt). Eine große Enttäuschung!! Insbesondere bei dem Preis! Wir sind mehr mit der Fehlersuche beschäftigt, als dass die Uhr ordnungsgemäß funktioniert. Gestern hatte sie sich komplett "aufgehangen" und erst nach der Update-Installation war eine Nutzung wieder (zeitweise) möglich. Die Uhr bringt absolut keine Freude! Mal davon abgesehen, dass es echt daneben ist, seinem Kind eine Uhr zu schenken mit der Möglichkeit, Spiele darauf zu spielen und ZACK mit dem nächsten Update gibt es keine Spiele mehr auf der Uhr, weil sich das Unternehmen gegen die Spielfunktion entschieden hat. Na, vielen Dank auch... Ich kann den Gedanken dahinter zwar verstehen, aber wer erklärt das bitte dem Kind? Natürlich nicht das Unternehmen.
