Google anyone's opinion on Atoto and other non-premium aftermarket car stereos and they will all say the same thing "don't bother", "save your money", "they are all rubbish". Well, this stereo proves them wrong!!To be clear, my requirements were Android Auto, touch screen, easy to use and external microphone. I was not after an incredible sound experience as this is just for a little runabout.I have tried two other cheaper units claiming to do all of the above. The first one would not power on at all and the second Android Auto failed to work 95% of the time. One was run on Android (the whole system, I am not referring to Android Auto here) and it was just way too complicated for 90% of the users who would own it and made everything slower.This unit came with all the fitting mounts you could ask for, numerous ISO connectors, much clearer instructions and we'll packaged.It is a very simple to use interface. Android Auto works FLAWLESSLY. There is little, to no lag. It honestly just does what it is meant to do. I'd you are using AA/Carplay then you will hardly use anything else on the stereo anyway.Screen looks great, but a screen protector would have been a nice addition.My only small gripe is that when saving the radio stations, it does not save the station name, just the frequency. However, I will likely be using a streaming app for the radio via Android Auto anyway so not too bothered, but may annoy some.I can't comment on the longevity or customer service as it was only installed today.So far, I am extremely impressed and truly believe this unit shows that you do not need to spend £300+ to get a great usable AA/Carplay stereo!!I am truly impressed with this little unit.

I have an older car (2009) but I wanted CarPlay but was put off by the starting price of £289 for most units. I have read mixed reviews about the Chinese brand head units but decided that buying through Amazon gave good protection if the unit as defective or did not live up to standards.The unit was easy enough to install using the correct fitting kit that I bought from Dynamic Sounds.The unit is a standard double DIN size and fits nicely into dashboard. CarPlay works really well through a USB connection (that I ran into the glove box). There is no wireless CarPlay.I have not used the units own software and do not intend to but it seems fairly good and easy to use.The unit is very well packaged and comes with 3 types of ISO connector as well as extra frames for different dashboard sizes as well as 3 instruction books.The main test of the unit now is longevity and again getting through amazon feels like you get good protection in that aspect.Overall I would very much recommend this as a lower cost way to get a car kitted out with CarPlay. It works very well and I cannot find any fault with it so far.

Nice unit which was very easy to install, came with quite a lot of connectors and accessories which is a positive. The android auto is working well so far but there is one massive drawback to this unit and that's the DAB interface. It's really slow and laggy. The favourites list gets erased all the time (not it's not due to the ignition cables needing to be swapped) the shortcut buttons don't save and can't be programmed if they're already on one of the 3 DAB pages (i.e. if the station is already on save 9 you can't move it to save 3 unless you overwright save 9 with a station not on the list). I'll give it a few days to grow on me but it'll be going back as it stands.

Please be aware I can only comment on my experience with install in a VW T5.1. It may be fine in non VW.Slow operating system. Often stored up button presses and responded anything from 30secs to a minute later.Needed to buy a “cage” for it to be installed and it didn’t quite fit in this. Extremely difficult to get it flush with the cage and dash.Biggest problem was that it interfered with the VW T5 ECU, illuminating “check engine light” and also the “glow plug light” which put the engine into limp mode.It didn’t retain memory of time, driver position and some other issues. This may be an aftermarket harness issue, but who knows?Stereos “made for VW” don’t interfere with the ECU and generally look a lot neater.
