A world of information at your fingertips.
Bought as a present for a pipe fitting apprentice, it will definitely help him as it helped me when I first started out.

Very informative.
This was bought as a present for my son who is a welder. I had one a few years ago when I worked in the oilfieds and found it invaluable.

I need A metric version and I was not told it was imperial
I have found the book very useful, but find it awkward when I have to convert to metric. Can any body tell me if there is A metric version.

Still a detailed pocket book.
As to the previous edition a lot of information on valves is no longer in this edition.

If you work with pipe you should own this book
In my opinion, you should buy this book, combined with Frankland's other book the "Pipe Trades Pocket Manual", and IPT's "Pipe Trades Handbook". With the three of these books, you should be able to handle about 95% of problems you will encounter in the field. If you want to learn how to make templates for pipe, I would suggest you buy Frankland's Book, "Pipe Template Layout" along with Rick Eisenbarth's book, "The Ultimate Template and Layout Pattern Book for Pipefitters and Welders".Back to this book. The information is presented very clearly. It also provides valuable tricks of the trade that will save you time and money.

Its a book
Has a few useful things like pipe layout if you dont already know how to do it. Its a basic book i guess, nothing really jumped out at me that other books dont have. One thing that did bug me is the way that do some formulas like finding the area of a circle. Ive always done Radius (squared) X 3.14. In the book they do Diameter X Diameter X 0.7854, it works out the some but i thought it was just an odd way of doing it. Few other things like that too. If it was closer to $20 itd maybe give it 4 stars but just not enough info. Best book i have thought is the IPT pipefitter handbook

Good reference for the pipefighter
A great reference for the Have looked at others and find this to be the best of the bunch.tradesman. Got my first one forty some odd years ago as an apprentice. Finally wore it out and had to replace it. Pleased to see it still in print. Have looked at others, but think this one is the best.
