Intriguing start to what promises to be a riveting series. Having just finished book 1 I’m definitely going to buy the next in series.

A good story line which keeps a good pace. Characters are a little fleeting with no strong character from start to finish. The book is easy to read and worth the time spent to read. Will try next in series.

I found that this was a well written and quite entertaining story. I downloaded a sample of the second book but it clearly was a new story about new characters and I wasn't engaged enough to read more than the sample. The first book reads fairly well as a standalone story so if you are interested in this sort of fiction then its worth buying and there are no cliffhangers which make you feel you have to buy the remaining books in the series - which is quite refreshing. I might return to the series at some point in the future, but I don't think so. Improvements would have been to have had some of the characters from the first book carrying on into the next, have a clear direction and plot for the remaining books. I admire the author for having written so many books and for her writing style, I just feel that her plotting needs to be tightened up and the stories given a bit more direction.

Enjoyed the read but it became predictable as the plot preceded, it was obvious that it was part of a series that was being sectioned off into different story lines.

A good page turner and well worth reading. I felt I was there every step of the journey in this book.

Difficult to read but even more difficult to put down,my imagination took me with the characters through the struggle to survive while trying to appease their gods in long ago days. Was this really how we started our long journey into today.

What a book. Love it from the very beginning until the end. Time to acquire the 2nd book in the series.

I took a chance on this book. It isn’t normally the genre I read. I was surprised how much I liked it. The characters draw the reader in, you become invested in their lives. The world building in good. The plot is interesting and brings you to the edge of your seat a number of times. The writing is great, bringing the story to life. Which at times is a little frightening. I’m glad I took the chance.

Great and interesting characters. This was a fun read and will have to read the next book to find out what happens to them all.

The story of Rebaas life was interesting and fast paced. An exciting and easy read. I was sitting on the edge of my seat constantly wondering what would happen next.. I think I found it unbelievable the cruelty of racism and humanity of of the clans to one another.
