Very helpful at desk
I pulled a glute a couple weeks ago and even with a silicone cushion it got stiff while sitting at the computer in my home office. A friend used a similar rotating seat to help her elderly mom get in and out of the car, and I remembered having NO discomfort on road trips in her car. So I got 2 of these, 1 for our passenger seat and 1 for my desk! My hip is SO much better and my gait is back to "my normal" even after sustained work time.

Keeps the kids out of your hair
I bought this first for my disabled mom..she died before we got to use it. Then I used it for my father who recently broke his hip. His OT/PT brought a garbage bag out to my car to help him turn safely. So ghetto! Like no way losers I bought something fancy. But, he has dementia and would forget it was there...so much for that. Then my daughter wanted to use it sit on in her seat..why idk. It was very soon put aside for a cushion my father had bought for his back and never remembered to use(I think he bought 8 of those pillows off FOX News laughing that we forgot he had a checkbook and a phone, so he can order off the TV and does not need the internet or a credit card 🙄🤔So, I am like what the F...am I going to do with this seat thingy now? Frisbee! Well, it kinda hurts when you hit your kid in the face with it..so back to the floorboards with this spinning seat along side the car door assist handle he put on wrong and dented my door, and his stupid loud Hurri'cane' he pokes kids and animals with...But then....I go out to my father's driveway to tell the kids to stfu due to them yelling and laughing like maniacs, but in nicer words of course, I did not need the old farty senior neighbors complaning. What do I see!! But my two bored and crazy kids taking turns spinning on it in the driveway! Standing, sitting and kneeling. PERFECT! Like the old sit n spins we had as kids..YAY a purpose finally. Yes it spins well, you probably should have flat car seats to make it work well otherwise I was thinking it could double as a cake turner while frosting, or maybe a ghetto lazy susan?

Not Useful As Hoped
Was uncomfortable sitting on. Works okay for a dining room chair, but not for fitting or sitting on in a car seat. The king on the bottom came off as soon as I took it out of the box.

Not useful at all for contoured seats.
Does not work well with car seats that have any contour which in almost all car seats these days. Maybe works well with flat kitchen chair but useless for contour car seat.

good, but takes some adjusting
The idea of a swivel seat is great for someone with lower back problems or piriformis symptoms (tend to throw your back when you just turn wrong and never figure out why? might be this). The problem, however, is that each car seat is different and so you must work with the swivel seat product to make it right for your situation. Here's what we did: first the car's bucket seat prevented the swivel seat from nesting securely within it. No matter how much I adjusted it, the edges of the swivel seat rested on the edges of the car's seat and the center was lifted, creating movement and a bad fit (imagine the car seat as a wide U and the swivel seat resting on the uprights of the U, but not the bottom curve). Solution: a small folded towel placed in the center of the bucket seat leveled it out (filled in the U) and the swivel seat now nests flatly. Second problem: even though it sits flat, it still slides around. Solution: I placed a strip of 3M safety walk, indoor/outdoor tread tape across the bottom of the swivel seat. It now sits securely in place and my mom can get in and out of the car better. I can't yet comment on the durability of the swivel seat because it is new. If it breaks or malfunctions, I'll update this. Update 11/2013: it's still working great. Note: I also purchased The Stander's Handybar (see my review on that product page). Once mom turns to the side, she simply drops the handybar into the door frame slot (where the car door connects with the frame) and boosts herself up and out. Update 09/2016: still working great!

Very useful!
I got this for friend who has great difficulty getting in and out of a car because of arthritis in his hips. This product is lightweight (easy to transfer from car to car, seat to seat, etc.) and works like an absolute charm! Highly, highly recomment!

I had one of these before and I really liked it. It broke (due to my negligence) and ...
UPDATE: This is definitely not the same quality as the first version I had of this seat. I've had this just over a year. The no skid backing melted off in the Texas heat leaving little sticky balls all around the seat and marking it from the glue and black backing. The cushion on this has compressed down and though alright comfort wise this thing no longer rotates and is useless. I put the old cushion from my first one under to lift it up from the bucket seat but it still will not work. My original one had bearings in it and I'm very disappointed that I broke it. It lasted much longer than this one and I believe would have kept working if not for my negligence. This one is not of the same quality and I'm glad Amazon tracks my orders so i do not make the mistake of repurchasing this one. The original was a gift from some specialty catalog. It will be worth the extra money to have one that lasts longer than a year. This one was ok initially and rotated well but seemed to go downhill once the backing started melting last summer. Even if I pull it off the seat, it will not easily rotate in my hand.

Years of use
I have used this item in my car for over ten years, and it stills works. My only suggestion would be to increase the padding, as it becomes somewhat uncomfortable on long trips, leading to increased stops.
